Any recommendations for a mouse please

I recently had to buy a new mouse for my old XP desktop. It's a wireless one and is using batteries far too quickly. I reckon the one in my old mouse lasted nearly a year. Admittedly I do sometimes forget to turn it off which must make a difference (the old one didn't have an on/off switch). I'm now looking for a reasonably priced mouse with a docking station (are they still available)?
Any recommendations please.

Mine is a Logitech M305 but I have small hands. My husband has the M505. Both have been great but don't have a docking station.

I use rechargeable batteries so I am not sure how long normal batteries last.

I've been using a Logitech M705 for 5 years, changed the batteries once in that time. Currently on the first replacement set and they're still going strong. I think it puts itself into standy when it's not being used so that adds battery life.

I don't turn it off or anything like that. It doesn't have a docking station but with battery life like that you don't really need one :)

so much that the left touch 'button' has a dent worn in it

I don't want a wired one lol! I've had a cordless one too long to go backwards.

When I bought this current mouse I had trouble finding one that was compatible with windows XP (I didn't even think about that beforehand, just thought any mouse would do lol). The ones I've looked at on Ebay don't say and I don't think Amazon does either. I've got a feeling that my old one was a Logitech but the buttons broke. It was quite old though.

I agree. I'm using this one at the moment and think it is great.
