  • Someone may be using your other account.... I had two ebay accounts, one I set up about 3 years ago, which I linked to pay-pal via my bank account, then after a spell in hospital never sold on it or bought anything, Last year I tried to get back on it, but my password had been changed and when I requested they send a new password, they asked me for my postcode, then told me that this didnt match up. I never thought much of it and opened another account under another email address, Then realised I was getting payment reminders in my old email address, and questions from buyers asking when I was going to ship. I ignored them at first thinking they were scam emails, until I noticed certain charges coming out of my bamk account saying the were pay-pal payments. I contacted ebay and they investigated and I was told that someone had hacked into my old account, Changed the address to a false one, but kept my account number, he was using my account to pay for his charges, then transferring the money he made on ebay to another pay-pal account to withdraw and then not shipping the items he had promised, Luckely he only lasted for a few weeks but, I ended up losing around £40 that he was paying out of my account, Glad to say he was done for fraud, I had to make a statement to the police and they charged him with identity theft.
