No mention of whether OP is using the proper charger, or some cheapo job off ebay either.
For compensation, OP would have to prove some kind of loss, and I can only guess that these shocks aren't that big.0 -

Well, clearly they weren't fatal.
I wouldn't chase Apple and demand in a confrontational manner.

I've experienced this with my MBP.
Make sure you're using a genuine Apple charge as non-genuine ones can cause this.
Then make sure the plug you're using is properly earthed.0
