Life insurance phone calls

I took out life insurance last year through Cavendish as recomended on here, it was just about a year ago, and now I keep getting phone calls telling me there have been loads of changes recently to do with life insurance and they want to go through my details to see if I could save money, I'm just wondering if thats a likely thing, or is it just coincidence they're calling now?

At the beginning of the year gendre was banned as a rating factor and therefore male premiums have gone down a little and women's premiums have gone up.
I'm not aware of any other changes that they could be referring to but I suspect it is just general cold/ warm calling from people trying to flog you stuff. I'm getting a lot of cold calls from people first trying on the PPI front, then personal injury, then debt management and finally they try and sell Life insurance. Evidently just call centres that then flog the details to another company as a hot lead. With some companies paying up to almost 50 quid for a hot lead and resell rights for Life its not surprising you're getting calls.0 -

There has only been one change and that is gender equalisation. Explained by II above.
Sounds like your typical cold calling. Did you use comparison sites last year before going with Cavendish? That would stick you on a load of mailing lists.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I-E in Dec/Jan too, but that would have had a negative impact on premiums and made them higher, not lower.
More likely they will do a review and try to knock out other cover already in place.I am a mortgage broker. Could be a review to see if the policy is in trust..
If its to protect the family it should be.0
