Definitely speak to your pet insurance company. Good Luck!0

My girls knee op was £4000, the insurance covered £2500 and I told the vet I didn't have the money for all the rest, he brought it down to £3000 and I took 2 loans for the rest...not ideal but the credit union lent me £250, Provident lent me £250 and I found the other £90 (£30 direct claim fee to the vet and her £60 excess) out of my wages.
Ask the vet for an instalment plan, mine could only do 3 months, they say its a legal thing about giving people credit, but if yours do the same it's long enough to get your claim paid to you and then settle with the vet."There is no substitute for time."
