If you really like your pilau and make rice at home to save money buy some Schwartz pilau rice seasoning its lovely and simple to use just add a teaspoon when you making your rice.
I still like the dominoes large pizza one topping deal for a £5 but its only monday-sat 11-4. Been there at 3.55 before now so we can have an easy peasy cheap tea. They stopped advertising it but if you ask they do it where i live still0 -

The post I was replying to was saying about buying half a pint of beer and half a pint of lemonade to create a pint of shandy.
But they said they sometimes had problems getting a pint glass from the bar to put it in.
My suggestion was to get a pint of tap water from the bar and use that glass _whilst in the pub_. I wasn't suggesting you then take the glass home with you!0 -
In fast food places (BK, McD etc), for teh 2 x kids we order Happy Meals, but for me and OH we buy one supersize meal and an extra drink and split the burger and fries.
Same as Indian or Chinese, 1 main and 1 x rice and split it (i like the home cooked rice idea though!)
This isn't tight and you don't get anything more, but we used to order meals each and were stuffed after them, so with splitting the portions are just enough and it helps with the waistline!0 -
If you have access to a Costco, they often do the basmati and pilau rice on offer, 6 for around £3.50
Bird's Eye 'rice infusions' are frequently on offer at £1, including simple basmati.
It's two portions per pack and they're in a kind of pyramid thing, so the rice is steamed in the micro. Tastes better (in my experience) than the Veetee stuff or the Tilda pouches and is 50p a portion.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0 -
