    Morning All

A bit brighter here today but still overcast and showery, the washing will go on the airers. Have handwashed a wee dress off DDs, it's orange and had a feeling it would run and it did! That's hanging on the line to drip for a while till it's dry enough to bring in.

I have ironed my holiday stuff this morning ready to put in the case for Sunday, our flight is from Edinburgh at 6.50 on Sunday morning so need to be organised.

Dinner last night was salmon with stir fry veg, tonight will be chicken a la something - having a bit of a block with meals at the moment, probably still in holiday mode.

Off to meet friends for coffee this morning to finalise travel arrangements for Sunday, I think one of thems OH is taking us to the airport. Apart from that not much happening here.

Hugs to those in need, Moorhen - well done to your DD and her friends, you have obviously brought her up to be a kind and caring person. FS - what a worry, glad everything is ok.

    Take care. XX

    Morning all,
yesterday was cool to start then got hotter, but not the blazing temps some have had. I dozed most of the morning thanks to the painkillers, but did start on tidying the middle bedroom in the afternoon.

My builders are chugging on but had to order more sand today - somebody stole most of it last night  They said they'd thought it had been thinner each morning, but last night was blatant theft. Maybe I'll surround the sandbag with wet concrete tonight :o

Tru - there are some rotten people about aren't there.

FS - that must have been such a shock, thank goodness it was good news for DD

Dumpling - I still have nightmares about school shoe shopping! DH has size 13 feet and the kids all followed him. I remember DD being so upset as we could not buy ladies' size 9 in suitable styles over the counter. One of her friends had a similar problem and wore carefully selected boys' shoes - so that is what we had to do until we found Brantano.

Time to brew up for the builders, have as much fun as you can x
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

    Morning all,

Just a quickie, I have a blood test and X-ray this morning and some eBay posting.

Moorhen, well done to DD and friends 46 is my age how sad, and big hugs for your friend hope things improve for her.
FS thank goodness they found it how scary hugs x

It's very overcast here, have a dark load to peg out but not sure what to do.
Things are very slowly improving money wise. Have another £100 per month to throw at the DMP so that should make our debt free day a bit nearer.
I'm also doing ok on eBay and trying to save what I make:D

Ooh before I forget my DS got the job:T he is now a weekend concierge at a very posh hotel. A great hourly rate and tips. Lots of their clients are rich and famous so hopefully he will do well. I'm very proud of him:D great hilarity last night when I tried to measure him for his new uniform, he did not want mum measuring his inside leg:rotfl: I've told him he's got nothing I haven't seen before :rotfl:

Anyway onwards and upwards, have a good day all J x

Hot & sticky here last night, I didn't get up 'til 8 & got my own breakfast.
    Hubby's gone to work, he'll be home sometime between 6 & 10!
Dumpling, daps, I haven't heard that word since I moved away from Bristol in the 80's.
    FS, what a scare.
    Hugs to Molly & Hilly
    Moorhen, yes, he was great.
LW, thank you for thinking of me.
DD will take me for a blood test at lunchtime, visitor this afternoon and other DD visiting on Sunday.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Lovely day here today, which is good as we have GS today. My DD, partner and two friends have gone by train to Dublin for a long weekend. GS is being shared by both Grannies (who he adores). He really surprised us last night. My OH has downloaded a number of apps and CBBC programs that he likes to our iPad. One of them had monsters mentioned and he has started seeing monsters about the house. So OH decided to remove that app from the iPad. Within 10 minutes of him having the iPad he knew the app was missing. Gave him a !!!! and bull story of where it had gone, but I don't think he was too convinced. Amazing as he is only 3.

Had a lovely steak last night, with herbs sprinkled on it that we brought back from Crete. A certain little monkey kept helping himself to my carrot batons! :D

Have a good day everyone

    Morning all,

Chipping away at my to do list steadily in work.

Started another coat of paint in the corner of the kitchen where the new fridge will be going - need to cut in the lighter colour again just to neaten it up and.... y'know actually finish the other two and half walls haha.

Just realised I forgot to set the washing machine going on the timer before I left the house, oh well will put kit on asap when I get home.

Cottage pie for tea as last night we ended up with tea from the chip shop. Really don't want to spend anything else now until I'm going away other than a couple of fresh bits and the following items of clothing (all fairly cheaply bough in sales haha) black maxi skirt, 2 cardis, couple of vest tops and some casual shoes!

Off to keep chipping away at ever growing lists and mental tasks!

    Hi all

Sorry, only skim-read yesterday's thread, as we were out all day for Lughnassadh:o – went and visited Stowe Gardens, which was lovely; I got to finally use the parasol I bought in Brugge about three years ago!:D

    Moorhen glad all went well.:o

FS (((HUGS))) to you and DD; thank goodness the Doctors have removed the offending growth; I hope the poor lass will enjoy better health from here on in.:o

Dumpling glad I'm not the only one who has to contend with “nose art” on the windows.:D

Julie congrats to DS on getting the job. Way to go!:T

Redruby how's OH doing, sweetie?:o And little dog?:o – I care a lot, because I was so fond of my two diabetic guests.;)

Back to same-old-same-old here today, after having yesterday out. I'm completely washed out (the downside of having a day out, unfortunately) but have managed a WM load and I've hand-washed yet another dress. Why is it that the only clothes I like all seem to need hand-washing?
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I said in my dreams not yours!:D

Well ive been to the doctors, been to the Post Office and I swear that hill gets longer each time I walk up it.

    th_Untitled_zpsc8a2ed8e.jpg

Actually, that picture does the hill no justice. It wasn't taken from the bottem.

I met two people I went to church with. My friend and neighbour from a few doors up and stopped to have a natter with her. Then I met a lovely man who was a member when I was. He was a single Father with two young sons. It was nice catching up with him but I still find the situation awkward. Apparently they have a new Pastor now who is 'Pro Israel' and they are going through the book of Revelation at the moment.:( I'd always be made welcome back I was assured.... he obviously doesn't know the reason why I left and the bad feelings it caused.

Anyway, ive cooled down a little bit so its time to press on in the house.:)

  • FS Oh my goodness what a shock, hopefully DS will recover fully now.

Hester glad to here that you are a bit brighter in yourself very gentle ((hug))

Didn't get online yesterday because it was FIL's birthday and DH's brother came up and we all went out to lunch in a lovely village pub, it was really nice to catch up.
The computer didn't like the heat much either and kept having a mini nervous breakdown, so I just left it off all day and it seems fine today. Then we went shopping in Aldi and I managed to get 3 free range chickens reduced to half price so £2.50 each they are happily roosting in my freezer ;) then I popped round to my local greengrocer as he was about to close and there were two sorry looking punnets of strawberries sitting there when I asked how much he said £1 a punnet , but I said they look a bit manky so he said ok 50p each win for me and win for him because he didn't have to throw them away :D
It was grey and raining when I got up this morning, I am really glad all the washing was dried on the line yesterday, it seems to be brightening up a bit now.
We are going to Bletchley this evening when DD gets home, she wants to look in the mega Asda there and I want some more bits in Ikea and as they are next door to each other it won't be too much bother.

Oh well I must get started on some ironing
    BFN x

... Other than that, there is a small shoeshop which sells Startrite shoes but I've never bought them before so I don't know what they're like....

According to my late mum, I always used to have Start-rite when I was a kid, as I had a very narrow heels :0 I think they used to be a bit more expensive than Clarks...

LW, apologies for my ignorance, but what is Lughnassadh?

Sunny showers here on the Lancashire coast, lots of blue sky and probably lots of people in town & on the beaches!
