Is anyone else having problems with forum speed? Since yesterday, it's been taking a minute or more to refresh a page (only MSE, all other sites are the normal less than a second)?
I've tried IE and Firefox and it's the same with both.
Posting and editing is instant but try to access a forum front page or just refresh your current page and you've time to make a cup of tea!
Quick (joke) test - 72 seconds to re-open this thread from the front page of this forum - but only 2 seconds to post an edit and 2 seconds to select the post for a further edit.
EDIT 08:58 21/6/07.
In view of the absence of any reply, I formed the opinion that 'it must be my kit' - so, this morning, rebooted the router. I have no idea why that should have any effect on these forums' refresh speed (but not edit/post speed), but it did.
I'll shut up now.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I am using IE7 on windows XP media centre edition 2002 SP2. this morning 11am when I checked the call rate for Austrilia, the IE page keep refrishing without showing the result. It works mostly and having the problem sometimes. Any suggestions?0

Heinz, glad to hear that the problem has gone away. It sounds to me like a caching issue, especially strange seeing as the complaints are normally about posting/editing time.
srinath, we think we've found a solution to the International Callchecker problem so hopefully it will not appear again. Please post here if it does.

Has anyone flagged up that in the Members List, only those whose names begin with a capital letter are found?
I might well be wrong about this and using the facility incorrectly, but I've tested it on a couple of lower-case names and they don't seem to be there.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Can you add to the "fix" list to underline hyperlinks again please0

It's a glitch, it's a glitch, oh the glitch is back.Not even wrong0

Ah, the midnight glitch. This is something more fundamental than just server issues. There are a number of automated jobs that run overnight and quite a few of them start at midnight. A server slowdown at this time can be expected.
