I paid Aqua using Giroslips for quite a number of months, and I have never had a problem. They clear upon receipt to Aqua (it seems).
It actually quite suites me - as Aqua recieves and clears it before the Cheque Clears out of my account (e.g: Pay on Mon, Clears in Aqua by Wens and Barclay's only debit the next day).Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -
Yes, unfortunately I've had problems. I'd managed to lock myself out of my online account - phoned and was unable to access an option that put me through to an advisor. I left it and phoned after a couple of weeks when my card had been declined a couple of times. They told me that my direct debit hadn't been taken, and insisted it wouldn't be taken (problems with the system) and that I had to pay by debit card. On checking my bank statement I find that the direct debit was taken on the correct day, and the debit card payment. I've phoned Aqua card to ask for a refund and they tell me that they can't refund it, the bank will have to do it!!? Not impressed with the customer service staff or the 'system'. Not sure why the card was declined either as I was within the credit limit whether the payment had been taken or not. Somewhat worrying really - hope they get their system sorted.0

Problems don't begin to describe what I've had to deal with. Aqua have a good shock and awe campaign.

I haven't had problems until last Saturday when I received a letter asking me to contact them urgently and to update my contact numbers. Checked my contact numbers and they were up to date. Called 9.am on Monday on the number quoted in letter as they are only open office hours only to be told eventually that it was the wrong number. Rang the second number and dealt with by a pretty unfriendly customer service person. Who insisted that the security information I gave her was wrong. Had just used my memorable word to log on to account so knew that was right. Have been married to my second card holder for 43 years so knew that was right but was told with a hint of glee in the voice that I had failed the test and she would now block my card and I would have to go to the inconvenience of sending in proof that I was who I really really knew I was. What she failed to grasp is that Aqua had already closed card as I had declined to sign a new agreement giving me 0.5% instead of 3%. No reply to subsequent moan from me via the secure web contact link either. Glad I will soon be rid of them once they have paid my cashback (hopefully!)0

Your internet access memorable word isn't (or at least shouldn't be) the same as your telephone access password.
