Aqua credit card nightmare

Has anyone on this forum had any issues with aqua card recently? I paid off the full balance on 22nd July with the giro slip you get with the statement. According to their website they received the payment on the 24th July, but they have not yet updated the available balance. I have tried using the card and it has been declined. I have also tried emailing them through the contact me link on their website and not heard anything back in 5 days now. Also I have rang customer services twice and each time as soon as I have entered my card number and date of birth I am disconnected. This is very frustrating as I wanted to use it this weekend because I am going away.

Not had any problems at all, although I make all my payments by direct debit and FASTER payments.0

Hardly a nightmare. It might be dated the 24th, but they'll only make the balance available once the transaction has fully cleared. My initial guestimate would be 5 working days. Maybe it's 7.
For future reference, it's much better to pay by faster payments bank transfer. Funds clear, and available balance updates, same day.0 -
Slight problem today, although I'm not sure if it's down to Aqua or Santander.
I set up a direct debit with Aqua almost three weeks ago. Their website says it's all set up and their customer service staff also say it's all set up. My Santander online banking doesn't show a direct debit to Aqua. Every other direct debit including some I've set up in the last week show up just fine.
So today, my due date, I sent them a faster payment (as I presumed the direct debit had not been correctly set up) and then rang customer services to ask about the direct debit again. They said that if I'd made a faster payment, then they wouldn't take money using the direct debit.
My 'available balance' on my credit card now suggests that I've paid double my statemented amount, which would suggest they've received both my faster payment and also taken money using a direct debit. I'm not bothered about having paid it twice, I just want to know what the heck is going on with the direct debit!
My Santander account shows my faster payment going out but doesn't show a direct debit as having been taken by Aqua, so I'm really confused.
My main concern is that I don't want ANY late payments. I'll be so annoyed if that happens simply because the direct debit hasn't been correctly set up and/or executed. What will your verse be?

Yeah CapitalOne seems to do that.
I'll have to contact my bank tomorrow then, as Aqua are saying the DD is all set up. Odd.What will your verse be?

I had 2 DDs set up supposedly that couldn't be collected. Companies said bank refused them. Bank said set up ok company never claimed.
Sacked companies and bank.
Life shouldn't be this complicated

Don't blame you, surely they must be able to figure out where it went wrong.
I'm inclined to think it's Santander in my case as Aqua are saying it's all set up, which implies they've had some kind of confirmation from Santander, yet it's not showing up in my account. What will your verse be?

I've had an aqua card for a few months now.
First statement came and I attempted to pay them, payment failed. I was advised by aqua to contact my bank (co-op) to see why they were refusing payment. Co-op weren't refusing, they stated that payment attempts all timed out.
I then called aqua who stated that it must be a problem with my address, we went over the address, made sure it matched what my bank statement said, again payment attempts failed.
I transferred the amount that needed to be paid into my Santander account, still, payment attempts fail.
I then set up a DD to ensure this could be fixed only to find out that aqua didn't take the payment because there has been issues with my card payments to them.
I have a card with a credit limit of £250 and now due to late payment charges and fees I have a balance of over £310.
I have made attempts to pay, the only thing I have left to try is send them a cheque and see if that works, for some reason they have never sent giro slips, even upon request.
I'm very unhappy with aqua and would advise people to avoid them if they could. I got it to repair credit but have now got to default level with them despite trying to pay and being assured by advisers that they are sympathetic to what's happening.0 -
You've tried debit card and DD, but you don't seem to have tried a Faster Payment yet.Notjackblack wrote: »I have made attempts to pay, the only thing I have left to try is send them a cheque and see if that works, for some reason they have never sent giro slips, even upon request."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be.
