I'm not sure how it works but did the receipt come with a voucher code or something like that?
I'd take it back to CPW and get them to look into it if i was you.0 -
Whenever you do a top up there ALWAYS do it under your name so if there is a problem with the transaction it is easier to sort out. What I think may have happened is the system has had a glitch. The PIE computer system they use is out of date and is prone to issues.
You could ask them to count the till, it might be up by the amount you spent. As above, they should have given you a receipt. Was it done via a card or did you ask for a voucher?
Ask for the employee to get in touch with complaints, they'll probably raise a voucher to cover another top up.0 -
hi thanks for the replies i paid in cash and it says on the receipt £10 airtime loaded the sales lady scanned the sim card's bar code (sim came with the new phone ) to apply the top up to it and she said it would go on straight away .
i have just rang the store i brought it from as i cant get over to the store today as its in a different town and they have now said they will write to 02 and will send me a refund cheque for the £10 top up after 30 days has passed what a joke. i told them i will go the store tomorrow with the phone and sim card and receipt so they can reapply the top up and they said no i have to wait for a refund cheque . brought loads of phones from them in the past and never had any problems this is a first.
on the plus side a nice lady from 02 has just activated my sim card for me so at least people can now ring me

I've purchased a few phones from CPW (and their variants) along with the compulsory top-up. When the top-up doesn't arrive (ahem) I always informed them it's missing, they'll then send you a cheque within 28 days.
It's annoying but it's CPW (the country's biggest market stall phone trader) :-)0 -

Very annoying for you OP.
I've never found the need to go with a 3rd party supplier like Phones4U and CPW. Are the deals really that much cheaper to make a difference? Plus I would have though in most towns, beside every P4U there is an 02, Voda store etc etc ... there is in mine?0 -

i live in a seaside town and we don't have any mobile phone shops or high street shops like Argos or anything like that so my nearest phone store is CPW that's the only reason i use them or i would have gone direct to an 02 store if there had have been one close by.
i have now got the problem sorted and 02 have applied the credit for me as CPW refused to.
thanks for everyone's replies
