Mmm. OP said he/she didn't want anti-slip mats. Never mind.

OP you might want to try CLICKY. Can't vouch for its efficacy.

    Cheers

But with anti mold mats you can leave in place until some helpful (OP) person cleans under them every week or so.

I have some anti-slip tape for some slippery steps. Should be easy to stick on to the shower tray.

However a decent mat (even a smart wooden one) would be the best solution.

but what if OP lives many hours drive away? Look they've tried mats. They don't want mats any more. Try answering the OPs question huh?

    Cheers

  • I got some anti slip tape from ebay which has really helped in our bathroom - and its easy to put it exactly where you need it because you can choose the lengths and where you put it - I bought a translucent colour so it isn't too ugly and its been down about 6 weeks and doesn't look like its going to lift off.

I would suggest that the local social services be contacted in order for an Occupational Therapist to conduct a risk assessment. Free advice and some equipment is available and it may well be that shower safety is not the only issue that needs to be addressed.

    hello
not sure if this is the right board, but wanted some advice on making a walk in shower tray anti-slip/non-slip for an elderly disabled relative.
he's been using mats for a while, but can no longer lift mat up to clean. i've had a dekko online and there seem to be anti-slip sprays or paints available... has anyone here used them? and can you do it yourself or do you need someone to do it for you?
    all advice much appreciated

I installed a walk in enclosure instead of a bath for my 87 yo MIL at Xmas and used an MX Anti Slip kit. Not cheap but gives an excellent non slip finish. That was obviously on a new tray with the plastic protector just removed prior to application. You get very small pot of cleaning fluid to apply before the anti slip so on an existing tray I'd clean well with meths as well. You only need to apply it where he walks and AFAIK it's for white trays only. I applied it over the walk in part of the tray upstand as well, just in case. Still looks good and used daily.
