Good morning everyone, lovely morning here "in the middle"

I have collected up my UU's for the month:-
200ml LE Orange flower body wash. WBA when got through remainder of stash
200ml LE Botanical Shine Shampoo. WBA at some stage.
75ml Elnett Satin Hairspray. WBA, but have another 1 in stock.
7ml ESpa Lift & Firm Eye Moisturiser. One of my HG's ! more in stock.
10ml Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream. MBA, like it and no sensitivity issues, but comes second to PRMC.
3ml Bio-effect EGF Serum, Have bought again, costs arm and leg but seems to really help my upper lip wrinkles. Ladies STOP SMOKING - NOW!
5ml La Roche-Posay Redermic R. Have bought full size, great on lines on upper lip and smile lines:D
Honey I washed the Kids soap. Love the smell, but it is a little drying on my hands, but no eczema break-outs, so MBA.
That's me for August, I have a few splutterers, and having just had a look through drawers in my bedroom, I will be continuing to sign in with you all for at least 6 months, but at least I am making considered purchases and hardly ever succumb to the special offers out there, no matter how cheap (or free).

    Morning all.

I got my copy of Red yesterday (sub) it had a sachet of the Clarins double serum in it, was going to try it until I read the ingredients and the third one on the list is mineral oil, I don't expect that in something the price of Clarins so I just binned it. Also had a Vichy Skin Idealizer sample, tried that one and it is rather nice.

I have to say I don't like Red Magazine anymore (I subscribed at a low price with a very good freebie), they actually print the F word in full in interviews (9 year old DD might have a flick through if she sees it so I have to bin it before she can) which is unacceptable to me and the other thing I hate is every single feature is about people with loads of money, perfect jobs and lives going travelling for months on end or whatever with their perfect families - they are totally out of touch with reality. Not to mention the price of the clothes and jewellery they feature - OK rant over.

The Clarins SA locally, gave me a sample of the double wear serum, I had already read (on Beauty Mouth) that it contained MO, I don't mind using it in small quantities, so I used the sample, but it did nothing to enhance my skin, I was pleased that I had not paid for it. Shame about the way Red is now, was a good mag at one time I thought. I only buy any now, for the freebies, and that is not very often, these days if I have time to kill somewhere I play patience on my phone to pass the time, in the past I would have picked up a magazine on the way, very :money:

Exchange - No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation - A continuation in the No7 match made foundation debacle, I've faffed around more thanks to that flaming camera skin match service than usual, I took back Soft Rose, then Calico and said to the assistant that the camera thing obviously wasn't going to work for me so could I try the two that I thought were right i.e. get them put on my face this time, we tried my picks of cool ivory and cool vanilla and it just shows you....the two I tried were so good on my face that I could have worn either, and there was hardly any line down the centre of my face (she did one on the left and one on the right), got Cool Ivory as it was ever so slightly darker.

My advice then is to take this with a pinch of salt and always get them to put the foundation on your face before buying!

some of the ladies in work tried it, one wasnt impressed with her shade match either and thought it was a bit too dark on her and another was shocked at the result she got.

i fell out of love with Red a few years ago, they had a fashion spread with people smoking in it. i dont think it should be glamourised like that, fair enough in a mad men type shoot where it was very much everyone did it and its authentic but just to put it in a fashion shoot for the sake of putting it in i didn't agree with. i didn't buy it for years and only recently picked it up again because they've had good freebies.

the features are getting a bit silly now, not everyone lives in London and has a huge house with a credit card that can afford £1,000 handbags! Easy Living was a bit like this, it had a regular feature of what school run mums wore at the school gates and every issue had at least one stay at home mum in Chanel dropping the kids off. yeah right! :rotfl:

I got Soft Rose first which was wayyyyy too pink, being a rosy person naturally, I always use beige foundations to counterbalance and hide the redness, then I was told Calico which made me look like a ghost!

It sounds like Red might be going down the pan soon then, people won't buy it with ridiculous stuff like this in it, and they aren't going to make ends meet merely with heavily discounted subscriptions

  • I don't know if anyone remembers me, but I'm back.

I fell off the wagon in May, lots of things have happened, and I stopped keeping track of my list. I'm currently in the process of making a new list, I'm up to 260 and I haven't even started on the makeup....
