I can recommend the Hotel Pennsylvania it is right next door to Macy's and across the road from Madison Square Gardens

I stayed at the distrikt hotel in April, it was a real gem, very reasonable and they really looked after us. I've recommended it to everybody I know

Safety wise in NYC they'll be fine. Reasonable priced accommodation is another thing, it is an expensive city to stay in. You'd be better giving an idea of their budget and dates when visiting, so that people can recommend somewhere to stay.

The budget hotel area that's become increasing popular over the last few years in Long Island City (LIC). It's on the Queens side of the Hudson from Manhattan, but is a short (10/20 minute) subway ride to midtown Manhattan. Hotels like the Country Inn & Suites, or The Verve are very popular over there for budget minded travellers.

In terms of things to do in LIC there's nothing bar the hotels. The Subway runs all night though as is perfectly safe and busy at all times of the day and night. If they want a night out in bars without having to travel, maybe they can look to the trendier parts of Brooklyn or try and find something cheap in Manhattan. Although in Manhattan cheap does tend to mean very low quality hotels.

hi there budget apparently is £400 for the 3 of them for 3 nights , I've told them I don't think this is realistic , there are some budget hotels in their price range but reviews are not so good,

so 3 girls £400 between them for 3 nights Sunday 18th august until Wednesday 21st, they would like to stay as close to times square as the budget will allow ,

they have looked at booking.com and found Manhattan Broadway hotel and is 0.3 miles from Times Square. It is £357.72 in total for 3 nights which is $549 and that's about $183 each? but reviews are mixed ?
