Take a look at the deals on Giffgaff, as they offer generous amounts of minutest etc on a rolling contract but once you reach your limit you cannot use any more and do no pay any extra. And voicemail is free. Also look at the Ovivo mobile thread on this forum, which offers a basic entirely free allowance
  • Thank you, everyone. I am already considering GiffGaff. As I say, my previous bill was 1700 minutes used out of 2000, so it's not so much having more minutes, as what the hell went wrong?

Has anyone else had a similar experience, and know if there's anything I can do about a £250 bill?

    Thank you!

If the bills correct they you would need to pay it, however if its incorrect then you should challenge it.

Another wise call 178 and come to some arrangement to pay it.

Thank you. Do you know, is there any way to check if calls that are on the bill, are actually calls that took place? I mean, is there no way calls could be coming up on the bill through some fault? Thanks again

    what handset you using?

Have a fine check through the phone bill, not quite sure how a 'phantom' call could occur, especially to a number of someone you know.. Yes if it was by way of a rogue app calling a premium number, or some kind a re-route of your calls..

Was there any time you fell asleep during a call and it kept the connection for hours..

waiting for the info from the bill...
  • While it's too late for it to be of use to the OP with her huge bill, there is an Orange App that should give a running total of minutes left, cost so far, etc. Using this would avoid "bill shock" at the end of the month.

I am on Three and their iPhone App works for me, however it's got a delay of several minutes before a call deducts the minutes.
