This is ridiculous
if you have no bidders or watchers how can you be disrupting bidding patterns? Sometimes just having that few extra days can make all the difference to whether your item sells or not!0 -
I guess the simple answer is to list for 10 days in the first place!0
-
this is just a way to ensure more items have to be relisted, this ensures that even if listing fee's are credited upon a successful sale, exra revenue will be made from the non-refundable gallery, bold and other such features
this will make people think twice before using a 3 or certainly a 1 day listing, and even 5 days will carry a significantly increased risk0 -
The problem with the majority of 10 day listings is that they linger around for 5-7 days with very few hits, only picking up watchers in the last few days.
On Auctions, plenty of people bid on items ending sooner rather than later to get the item quicker.
By listing and extending, this increased exposure by keeping the item closer to the front page of search results and category listings.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I'm still able to change my 3 day Bin's to 5, 7 and 10 days (at the moment)."There is a light that never goes out"0

I would like to have a go at this before it stops completely as I've not tried it before. I've listed 2 things for 3 days just to see. I will only attempt to relist for longer (if it is still possible) if i have no bidders OR watchers. ANyone who has been doing this, at what point exactly ie how many hours before the auction is due to end have you extended the auction? (I'll just repeat that i know this 'loophole' is ending and i might be too late - still interested in it anyway - even if it only ends up being in theory) thanks.Aiming to take control of my life:A

You could extend the auction as long as there was more than 12 hours remaining, and no bids/sales received on the item.
To give you an idea of how I found it - I would list 100 DVD's on a 3 day listing, approx 50 would have bids by end of day 2, so I would extend the remaining 50 to 5 days. Of these I would expect another 20 to have bids by the end of day 4. I would then extend the rest to 7 or 10 days depending on my stock levels, and would generally expect only around 10-15 to remain unsold at the end of the 10 days.
If I relisted them properly after the end of the 3 days, I would be paying much, much more in fees....<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

I listed a few things on 3 days today - never done that before, and I'm impressed - have bidders already! I have also moved a couple of things from 5 days to 7 that have no watchers or bidders. I can see what you mean; I hope I can continue with the experiment. It does seem to work! I'd just stuck things in for 10 days before - truly boring! Thank you.Aiming to take control of my life:A
