oh, and will your council tax go down when you are the only adult in the house when she's off to uni?

Hi, no it won't as she's inbetween college & has a conditional Uni place the council haven't removed the single person discount. Had a long chat yesterday with them as they wanted to

Hi, will you not have to sell your house anyway at some point to give husband equity? i was in the same boat as you, my husband left me and two kids 2.5 years ago, but i managed to buy him out. Could you ask your mobile phone provider to reduce your tariff a bit rather than get a new one? i managed to shave a bit off before the tariff ended.

Hi, I won't have to sell the house. Our divorce finalised & as the house/mortgage was always 100% in my name I only had to pay him a small proportion. I was incredibly lucky & got some inheritance early and also bought my husband out.

I haven't tried phoning O2 but I will definitely give it a go tomorrow, thanks for the advice

take a reading or look at the bill (actual readings not estimates), an annual metered water bill of £510 (160 units/year equates to about 9x10 minute showers every day or 60 toilet flushes) is quite high, which could mean you are using a lot of water, or have a leak, or prices in your region are high, or some billing issue (estimated or debts).

The region is expensive I think. I pay £35 to one company & 16 to the other. I'll look the bill out tomorrow. We definitely don't have that many shower/toilet flushes

Well, this week I have cancelled Sky, has my water bill reduced by £5 a month as overpaying with DD. I starting shopping online with Ocado again, I have been offered 6 mths free delivery pass (with option to cancel at the end) first shop arriving this morning, got everything I needed for £43!! I know some people say online shopping is more expensive but it saved me a fortune last time, no impulse purchases, no kids with me adding 'extras' into the trolley :)
Spoke to the ex husband about my impending redundancy & he's offered to help with mortgage/bills for a couple of month if needed, really don't want to take him up on that but it's a nice gesture and reassuring to know it's there.
Total spend this week (no including food shop) was £6, £5.40 of that being parking charges for dropping off & collecting laptop that wasn't working.
Went to the pub once over the weekend and the OH bought a bottle of wine so didn't cost me a thing except for cooking him dinner!
