    Morning all,

redruby how dreadful, big hugs for you all especially your dh.

dumpling well done I knew you could do it:D
jackieo good luck with the appt
moorhen hope it goes as well as it can

I've written myself a list this morning as there are quite a few things I want to get done today.
Firstly prepare chicken stuffed with cheese for tea
Sort out my wardrobe, get rid of the stuff that's too big and put away the stuff that's too small. Probably leave me with not a lot but I'm determined.
List a few more ebay bits
Make another dentist appointment done tomorrow at 3
Write a list of healthy foods to put on the fridge door
Put all the chocolate, sweets in a plastic tub and out of the way so I'm not tempted
Make jelly and yoghurt trifles low fat, as they help me to stick to healthy eating
Send an email to volunteer as a coordinator for a self help group done
    Do a food inventory

Dh has gone off to work hopefully for a full day. This month has been a real struggle we have just about by the skin of our teeth managed to get there but food shopping is going to be just the absolute essentials this month.
Saw my son last night he seems to be doing better, has had his first counselling session.
My boy in Australia got a new car cue lots of pictures throughout the day, he was excited bless:D
My daughter is in the throws of a new relationship and very loved up, hopefully we will meet him soon
My youngest is off for his interview at 12 it was postponed yesterday so fingers crossed.

Anyway better get on if I'm going to get any of my list done. Have a good day xx

    Redrubywhat a terrible shock

Yesterday was a rather wet day. I had got used to all the sun, with all the windows open. The wet weather, and most of the windows closed certainly had an affect on my mood. Dull wet weather seems more isolating that the warm sunny stuff. I'm quite happy to spend time by myself, but I did notice the difference.

Today DH is home, so we will probably pop out soon to buy some top soil, as we want to put a bit of seed on the lawn before we go on holiday. We'll probably have a coffee while we're out too.

Then it'll depend on the weather - hope to get some washing on the line and some garden work done.

I try not to think about my work days until Thursday dawns, but I'm already not looking forward to tomorrow. It'll be the 1st, and as such will be very busy, manic busy in fact. I don't often have to work on the 1st, so I can't complain really.

  • Redruby How awful, the poor man must have been in a terrible place mentally to do that, and to be found by his son it just doesn't bear thinking about. Your DH must be still be in shock, he deserves a big (((((((((((((Hug)))))))))))))

Raining here again, but the forecast is for hot weather tomorrow so I will do the washing then, no point doing it today if I can't get it on the line.

So I am just going to have a pottering sort of day and get a few small jobs done.

dumpling I am glad that you got through yesterday and it has helped you.

(((((((Hugs)))))) to Hester, Molly, hilly, bethebee, LW and all others who are poorly or in need of one

    Have good days all

    Hi all

Soggy out there today – a sort of “mizzle” iyswim. Bit of a nuisance as I have a dress to hand-wash, (it runs better than Usain Bolt):D and it'll have to drip in the bathroom now, as I can't wring out worth tuppence!:(

    Moorhen I hope DD's friend's mum has a beautiful send-off.:o

Redruby OMG, how awful.:( All I can say by way of comfort to you and OH is that the poor chap must've been hurting terribly – maybe not in a physical sense, but mentally – and is now free. So sad for the family who have to pick up the pieces; and you and OH need to take some time-out to come to terms with a horrible trauma, too. (((HUGS)))
I agree - give those you care for an extra hug today; four-footeds included. :o

Mr LW has just emailed me the draft work rota for August – so it's not even finalised yet. Honestly, they get later and later doing it, and for me, it makes it very hard to plan anything – as you probably know, I need Mr LW with me even for simple things like a trip to the local SM.:( Anyways – it looks like he has an Early shift (and will therefore be wfh) on 19th, the day The Princesses arrive, so he can run interference with Pandora (who we already know) while I get to know Patsy (who is a newcomer).:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

redruby how dreadful,my nieces OH did this almost 4 years ago leaving a disraught wife and two little girls. The eldest girl was 9 at the time and is still having councelling. The devastation left behind for the family is awful.I don't think my niece will ever get over it.My sis-in-law virtually lives at their house so not only has her DDs life changed but hers has as well. The girls and his wife adored him and his was down to a serious money problem Basically he had over extended a loan to the wrong people and when the recession hit his business everything went bust and he had gone bankrupt for 1.6 million. The loan guys were threatening him so he took what he thought was the easy way out.Well it was for him but not his family. How dreadful and your OH was brave in trying to rescue him. Those poor children I feel for them as I have seen what it does to a family

My gardener has arrived so I'd best put the kettle on for his cuppa

    Morning All,

Redruby - well done to your OH for trying his best to save the man. A shocking experience for all concerned, not easily coped with. Terrible for his family left behind. Very sobering story for us all.

Well after another early morning session on the laptop (2am till 2.30am) I have managed to move enough monies around to (just in time) have funds available to allow a cheque to clear and my DD's to be met. Treasury and Stock Exchange can rest easy now! :D Judi going on the premise of "what's his is yours" I'll allow you to treat me to the food and drink on our next date! ;)

Very pleasant morning here, but heavy rain due later.

Have a good day everyone.

Redruby how awful for your husband and you, hugs all round. My thoughts go out to the gentleman's family.

Wet start here today, at least I managed to make it in to the office before it started - almost forgot my umbrella this morning but remembered at the last minute. Good job too as I have to go out at lunch to pick up a weeks bus pass - I normally order a monthly one online but as I go on Annual leave at close of business next Wednesday there's no point - I'll order one to start when I get back. I'll save about £1 by getting a weekly plus I'll be able to go swimming Saturday morning if the new fridge arrives early enough. Better to have the security of a weekly than to have to remember to get cash out though I think!

Chile and a pita from the freezer for lunch with enough left to have the same again tomorrow. I'm going to have a random chicken pasta and veg plateful for tea as it will cook whilst I shower post swim and will use up some of the little bits from the freezer!

Finding it hard to concentrate at work recently so have started to make smaller morning and afternoon 'to do lists' so it breaks down what I want to achieve each day - proving much more effective today already (usually just have one list and mark things off as I go - or on busier days I have printed planners which I use to assign time slots to tasks!)

I'll need ham or cooked chicken on Friday for bf's lunches so I may get that today or more likely tomorrow!

    Morning all,

Terrible day here yesterday, I went out for an appointment late afternoon and OH phoned me on the way back he was frantic, the chap over the road had hung himself in the garden, his son had been over and hammered on the door to ask OH for help.
OH phoned 999 and was on the phone to them as he run over, my poor OH had to cut him down and cut the rope from his neck to see if there was still a pulse, he was unfortunatly long gone. The road was swarming with police / ambulance for hours. They have 6 kids over there most of them are grown, but the twins are only around 6 :(. Obviously the chap had mental health issues, but its the ones he left behind I feel for, the young lad came over and knocked to say thank you to my OH, and they both hugged and sobbed, it was heartbreaking to see.

Looking back now I had seen the chap put a ladder up against the trees earlier in the day, I thought he was cutting them back (he was always doing this) and when i looked about 20 mins later he was still there, he was probably already gone, just wish we could have done something to help the poor man.

Today I will be doing the usual jobs, washing / cleaning, but make sure you give your loved ones an extra hug today.

    Have good days all xx

Just wanted to send hugs to you all, your OH must be in shock and will be for sometime to come.

My Son took his own life 3 years ago, leaving two young boys, the results are devastating for all the family.

He made sure we were all out of the way when he did it, we wereat my Dads funeral, so we didnt have the utter horror of finding him but my heart went out to the woman who witnessed it and being a nurse did what she could to help. A year later at his inquest she just stood and sobbed whilst giving evidence.

Hugs to all those in need.
I'm gradually getting stronger, but it's going to take a while.
Sunny here again, hubby's shifts are in in chaos, which is making everything more difficult.
    Have a good day.
    Hugs Hester

Redruby, what a terrible shock, huge hugs for you, hubby and the neighbours xx
Moorhen, hope everything goes well today.
Dumpling, glad yesterday was a success, setting achievable goals and succeeding will boost your confidence and your mood!

Have followed brother to the garage and brought him home, his car was booked in to have the timing belt changed, however his wages haven't gone in as the payroll dept mixed up his bank account number, so I will need to lend him the money till he finally gets paid!
Sky is looking very black, so washing will be on the airer as I need to go out later. Forgot to take the planned dinner out of the freezer so will rummage for something that doesn't need defrosted.
    RIP Iain
