The Awesome Amazing August NSD Challenge

  • Okay. I know I've joined this challenge really late but I've just joined the forums. I am a shopaholic, which sounds hilarious but really isn't since I waste hours a day fantasy shopping on websites I can't afford to buy from, spend all my money (and some that I don't have- oops) on shopping and fill my life up with material things.

I don't think I can do a total no-spend challenge as I'm going on holiday on the 24th, but I will not buy any clothes or beauty products (except a razor when I arrive on holiday since i'm only bringing hand luggage) for the rest of the month, so I suppose this is a 17 day challenge for me! This doesn't sound difficult, but for me this will be really, really hard so wish me luck!

  • Good luck thriftymissy. The only thing I recommend is to come back and post as often as you can as it definitely helps to keep you on the straight and narrow. Especially if you have to own up to other people that you've spent money. :D

    Evening all

A nice steady plodding sort of day when nothing went wrong, in fact nothing really happened, which is a relief after some of the days I've had this year:eek:

Hi Thriftymissy, welcome to the NSD challenge, you have come to the right place, I think many of us will relate to fantasy (over)shopping.

If you look through the posts you'll see many of us handle the challenge differently, either including direct debits, or not, including essential spending or not, its all about making you think about what you spend, when & why. Ask questions and ask for help if you are struggling, someone here will probably have a suggestion.
Last night I had an idea of something else to include (like I now include out of package phone calls and texts, but darn it I forgot what it was I wanted to add :o however I did remember NSD 11 please:D

    Happy Friday eve (for tomorrow)

    Good Morning Folks,

I am still having the odd problem posting:mad:, so will try this anyway! I didn't go to the gym yesterday, but went out for a walk last night instead. Of course about one third of the way, we had the most horrible rain in NI and while I had my coat, the hood is a little big, so of course my head got soaked:eek:
I am leaving soon to head for the gym, so hope everyone has a good day! Plenty of rain forecast for NI today, so I hope it is dry where you are and if not, take an umbrella:)
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

    £2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!

    Good morning,

Appears a bit damp though I haven't ventured any further than guinea pigs this morning.

I am still at number 4, despite today being a spendfree day because Sunday turned out to be one. Oh well, all d / ds for the month paid, I have cupboards and fridge / freezer full of food so may be I can get an in-a-row going this week.

I've overspent this month. I am £15 short of my whole July spending and I've still got over two weeks to go.:mad::eek::mad:

Full cupboards & freezer makes getting on the NSD wagon a bit easier:D, might have to get inventive though to get to the end of August, (might draw the line at frozen carrots on crackers for tea:rotfl:)

Good luck for some NSD's this week
