Just ask the retailer to put £200 on your debit card and the rest on your credit card. Most places will do this for you, especially in face-to-face transactions. Might be harder online.

Or if you're a good customer and have used the card before and paid it off, you could call tesce and ask they increase your credit limit by £200.

    It's online with Apple

Wanting to order a new MacBook .

It's my 1st credit card and not even got the card yet so therefore not sure they would raise the limit on it.

Unless Apple with let you order over the phone and split payment between my debit and credit card.

Unfortunately most card issuers will decline a transaction that exceeds the credit limit even if the card is in credit.

Would the same price be available in an Apple store? It would be the most likely way you'll be able to split the transaction across two cards :o

Is this the no interest on purchases for 18 months Tesco card? I saw that deal on the TV - sounded good.

Apple usually honour their own online prices in their official stores. I think this would be your best bet. Or as an alternative, Apple do reasonably good finance through Barclays, but you will pay a bit of interest.

Perhaps it is possible to buy £200 of Apple vouchers and pay on checkout with the vouchers and credit card.

That's a great idea! Yes that should work perfectly.

Yes it is the Tesco Card 18 Months interest free fantastic deal one of the best 0% for purchases out there.

Liking the sound of the vouchers idea will look into that but not sure if you can buy it in the shop. Ifs from the online refurb store but might be able too.

Well spoke to Tesco Bank and they don't do overpayments they said its breach of contract.

Spoke to Apple and they won't do split payments and I can't use vouchers

But a mate has come up with an idea. He said buy something on the credit card for £200 and soon has it shows up online make a £200 payment to clear it off, then simply return item to shop for a refund. He said that way your credit card will be £200 in credit and you haven't made a overpayment.

Seems simple but I ain't sure if it would work
