I wont pull out as this is proceeding, so it will hopefully eventually all complete, I'm viewing elsewhere on the just in case scenario, it happens these lot may come back off there honeymoon and decide they don't want to sell, I don't know so I'm taking options, all I want to do is view, then decide, if its fantastic then i'd have to make the decision from there, but why would I pull out then find the next house wont come down in price or has survey issues, the vendor has little right to be furious, as there hardly rushing on the basis I may look elsewhere, they have in fact pushed me in that direction.

Nothing more sinister than left hand not knowing what right hand was doing. The agent has not updated your details to say you have an offer accepted.

No, it was the same girl who rang me to say the vender had accepted on our offer, and I had spoken to give her our solicitors details :rotfl:

I always ask the name of the person I am speaking to on the phone ,

So not the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing, more a case of in one ear, out of the other, avoiding any regions of high density.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

oh, just for the record , I told her we were very happy with the house we had offered on and unless something goes wrong we are not interested in viewing any other property

I think our seller is going to be a nightmare , single bloke and his own words ,not found anywhere to go

but we are not in a rush, it will take as long as it takes

OP I hope your sale goes through but it does sound to me that you are not 100% sure about your choice
  • In fairness to the vendor of this house though, it would be understandable for a buyer to get annoyed with someone who had had their house on the market say a couple of months and then decided to spend some time involving themselves with having a wedding/honeymoon.

In this instance though, in the vendors position, I can understand that if I had had a house on the market for some time (ie longer than 6 months) and my buyer still hadn't turned up yet that I would probably take the view "Who knows how much longer it will be before I get my buyer and I had better Get on with My Life (eg get married if I had decided to)". Its not possible for vendors to put their life on hold indefinitely if their house is taking a while to sell and its just unfortunate for both buyer and seller in this case that the buyer did turn up at last at the point at which vendor had made some concrete Get On With Life plans. Bad timing...but I can understand the vendor thinking "I might have to wait months yet for my buyer to turn up and I cant go on and on and on postponing my wedding indefinitely. I might have to wait months for the wedding if I do that...".

I've certainly seen sellers have to wait a couple of years before their buyer turns up and that would be one heck of a time to put a life on hold for whilst waiting for that buyer to show up.

Yes agree, they may have just become complacent however its not that they are having a wedding/honeymoon, happy for them its the fact they never bothered telling us until long after the survey expenditure and into the process,

Good news, I have a call with the estate agents this morning, they were more than happy to help me view the new place, they agreed with my view and said its my money my decision ETC pretty much what's been said on here, I will view and make a decision from there, I wont hold out if its better for me I'll do the necessary many thanks for all your help/opinions on here
