Moving sky subscription

We have had our sky subscription for nearly 11 months now, it was on a 50% off deal and is coming to an end in September. We will be moving house at the end of August so I was wondering which of the following to do:

A. Move the subscription and ask for another deal.

B.Cancel the subscription then hunt around for another 50% off code and sign up in my girlfriends name.

C.Tell them we want to cancel and hope they contact us with a better deal before we move at the end of August. (I've read on these boards that they tend not to offer any deals to people who have already had one).

Any advice or suggestions will be much appreciated!

I would go with option B. Cancel your current sub and sign up new after the move.

This way you can take advantage of new customer offers when you sign up with a new address and then further down the line it may increase your chances of getting a decent discount as that new account wouldn't have previously had any discounts applied to it so you avoid the "repeat discounter" tag.

I'd agree with that. Apart from anything else, a spare box can come in handy.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone know how often the 50% off deals come round? I think I remember one recently on the MSE email (which has probably run out by now).

Well you could take advantage of the current one groupon is "selling" for £9.

It may cost you £9 initially but my understanding is that this £9 is then credited to your sky account.

Yes but I am not allowed to post links on this forum as I am a "new" user.

However if you go to google and type in "sky 50% groupon" without the speachmarks it is the top search result.

I've bought the groupon offer but I'm not sure if it includes 50% off sports. Does anyone know?
