£170..!!!! Wow.
I agree with prev poster as to action, there isnt really any other alternative now.0 -
Yup, LBA. And your contract is with whoever you paid. If they went through another company then that's nothing to do with you. Once you get your money back, they should then seek to get the money back from whoever they paidOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Maybe a call to your local trading standards office may help, I would also get screen shots of the web site, just in case it changes.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Well i agreed to give them a few more days to "get to the bottom" of things and they said they would get this second company to contact me and tell me their decsion. What would I need to do after a lba if they wont do anything? Depending on their actions i plan on nameing and shaming on here!0

It's slightly complex working out who your contract is actually with. You presumably booked the stripper through one company, but then it sounds like you paid the stripper himself. So maybe the company were just an agency and your contract is with the stripper directly.
Did you pay anything to the company, or did it all go direct to the stripper?0 -
Hi enimemfan,
I would write a letter (or email as that's not a durable medium) explaining what was wrong, how "the contract" terms were not met and what you would like to happen.
I would start to save/store all documentation relating to the 5mins, fireman not policeman etc for future references.
I would say that your entitled to a £127.50 refund, as I would calculate it as £170 divided by 20mins = £42.50 for the 5mins work.
As said above, your contract is with the person you paid, there contract is with the person they contacted etc. I would have no problems chasing this through the small claims court, or even the threat of the small claims court. You would get all your fee's back which they will need to pay (£25 early on).
If you want to scare them, you could send them an "letter before action" followed up by a phone call explaining that you know what your doing with moneyclaim online. (I would read up before that phone call etc).0 -

Its complicated but my understanding is I paid a £30 deposit to company A who then instructed company B to book the stripper who i paid the rest on the night. So who would my contract be with?
Im giving them tomorow to get back in touch before I start to fall out with them for lack of a better term. I dont mind thretening them with small claims court but i just cant afford to follow through with it so if it came down to that they will win.
Thank you everyone who has helped so far. Thank god for this website or i wouldnt have any idea what to do!0
