Hen night problem

Hi all just looking for some advice. I booked a male stripper for my friends hen night as a surprise and there were many things the party (and hen) were disaponted with so we just wondered if it would be fair to ask for some of our money back?

To start the man was 40 mins late saying he got caught in traffic and the man who turned up looked nothing like the pictures from the website. The person in the photo was young and very attractive but the man who turned up looked to be in his late 40s, was sweaty and not the most attractive person I have seen. The website said that for £170 his act would last for 20 mins and he only lasted less than 5. Also we had asked that he were a policeman uniform and he wore a firemans outift which was not good because the hens father is a fireman!

We were all left very disapointed and i was left embarrased and it put a bit of a dampner on the evening. Would I be fair in asking for at least half my money back?

Thanks for reading and yes feel free to laugh. Its all we could do the rest of the night!

I think you have a good case for asking for a partial or even full refund. Your difficulty is going to be proving it if required.

I presume you booked via a company. Get in touch with them, itemise the problems (as you have above) and state what you want. I'd ask for a full refund.

Jeez. Do people still think strippers are good entertainment? *shudder*

  • Haha, this is a bit of a tricky one. However, if you consider it as paying for any other service, you would complain and ask for a refund in any other case. Therefore, you should contact the company that you booked him through and register your concerns.

    A common male problem.

  • Haha thank god things werent as bad as that! Also yes we thought a traditional hen night with party games, drinking and a stripper sounded fun. Sorry if its not anyone elses cup of tea but that has nothing to do with my problem. I gave them a call today and she will investigate and get back to me.

Glad others are making jokes though. We made a few about it almost being like the episode in friends with pheobies stripper lol
  • Sorry to drag this up again but i could use more advice. The company are still giving me the run around. They have said they dont book the strippers they book them through another company(?) But the main problem is they wont give me back any money but have offered to give me a good deal on another stripper.

This is useless to me, the party is long over and no way would i give them more money just to rip me off again. They have also said I shouldnt have paid him but how was i supposed to no he would only stay a short time. Do i have any rights here at all?

Letter before action detailing the reasons for your complaint and the reason for failure of fulfilling the contract.

    that would be my guess
