Are they really that desperate for a few quid.
Make absolute no mistake, when some challenges your ANPR cameras and lack of VCA certification equipment been used as court evidence , your entire game is up and up for good.
I think you know this, hence the board spamming trying to scare people.
You are going to get your comeuppance .
I do hope you are not suggesting I have ANYTHING to do with Parking Eye, other than I was stitched up by them but gave in.0 -

Before shouting your mouths off at people helping you with these crooks, you would be better reminded that it was YOU who parked your car without taking any notice of all the signs in the car park.
If people are helping you, show some very basic respect, the people helping you did not create your situation, you did when you parked your car on private land without a care in the world.
The people on here are doing their best to help and often do not even get a thanks in return.
Above all they can never help anyone who will not help themselves.
Less anger and more respect, you got yourselves in the mess, don't take it out on those trying to pull you out of it.Be happy...;)0 -

Yes but the claims only started to come in about that time, as I said we are not fortune readers, we can only advise on what is happening at that time. I'm sorry that this has happened but we always encourage people to read page 1 of the forum as that is the most up to date advice.
All that has happened months ago has been superseded now with what is happening currently. If people cannot help themselves then we can't do much as this is primarily a self help forum, no matter what the subject you have to help yourselves.
It's very frustrating for the regular helpers here to have posters coming back 6 months later saying basically the advice is wrong, we ask well what did you do in the last half a year in regards to this? Did you check if things have changed? Did you come back here after a letter ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Reading the posts from the helpers on this forum, it is clear that some of you are missing my point. My point was simply that the actions by PE have changed over the months. I am aware of that - I have read the forum posts and kept up to date. I have not and am not accusing anyone of ever giving false information or advice. All I have said is that because the 'old' system of ignoring the letters until they go away has now evolved into the new LBA tactics, I caved in because I was fed up with the stress of wondering what might happen and how long it was going to go on for. I felt the charge was worth it to get it off my back, though I accept that such action will not do anything to discourage their bulling tactics. Nor am I advising anyone else to do the same (unless they feel the same, and I reckon a lot of people do) I know it must be frustrating for those who are trying to help others, but I do thank those people for the advice in the past (which I followed completely) and I genuinely wish you luck in the fight against these scammers. However to those of you who have today:
*accused me of having some involvement with parking eye
*being a fool for paying
*accused me of shouting my mouth off at people who are trying to help
* accused me of not being prepared to put in the effort to write two letters
* and for all the other unfriendly comments you have made. Thanks a bunch, and I suggest you read the comments properly and try to understand things from a different perspective. Maybe from the perspective of someone who is going through the process and the unpleasantness that comes with it. Some of your comments and your attitude would make me extremely wary of taking your advice no matter how good it was.
I have made my points and won't be responding to any more comments. At the end of the day, I think we all agree that companies like Parking Eye are the scum of the earth so lets agree on that and I wish you the best of luck in helping to get rid of these crooks.0 -
Hi,
I've responded to the Letter Before Action in the manner described and just received a five page document that dismisses the poplar route as an option as it past the deadline of 28 days, mentions several court cases that seem in its favour and generally gets quite bolshy in defence of it's right to 'damages'. In fact it then demands information including a list of all documents that I will rely upon in court, name of persons who authorised the law to be broken (?), explanatioN of why these terms were broken (?), why other letters have been ignored, why signs were not seen, route taken into car park, reasons for thinking parking charges are not a pre-estimate of loss, why they dont have authority, why they've received over 20 similar documents, and so on...!
What should I do now....any help grateful or links, or can I PM someone who knows?
Thanks in advance for help in fighting these parasitic scumbags.
BTW as this is undoubtedly read by someone from Parking Eye then I say the following :- Stop trying to make a living where there isn't one....get a proper job.....question your worth in society in 2013...!!!0 -
This is not my specialist area and I try to keep out of this. zzzlazydaisy is the expert here but she is away for now.
You may not like my suggestion, but it's the best I can do.
I know she has tackled this very point you are asking sometime over the last couple of weeks.
In the absence of better advice, get a cup of coffee and read through he last posts till you find the relevant ones. (You find a post by her, click on her name and "Find other posts by zzzlazydaisy" option.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hello
I am writing for advice because I have just received a Letter Before Action from Parking Eye and don't know what to do. I over stayed at The Range by 15 minutes because my baby had a number 2 just before leaving which had gone all up her back and I had to change her. I was the driver but not the registered keeper. The letter says if I don't pay £100 in the next 14 days they will take me to court. What should I do as this has really upset me? I don't want to pay as I was late out of the shop for a very genuine reason and can prove that I bought things in the shop that day but have a knot in my belly and don't know if I have the guts not to pay. Thanks for any advice you can offer me.0 -

Please read my signature after which advice will follow. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
