WOW - not being rude but if people like yourself can't actually read then I'm struggling how we can help.
We haven't recommended ignoring ( except in Scotland ) for a number of months now. If you can't spot the dates on posts I'm not sure what we can do !!!!
For avoidance of doubt WE DON'T RECOMMEND IGNORING PCN'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In summary we recommend :
1. A soft appeal to the PPC
2. A hard appeal to POPLA ( with assistance ).
Really, it's not that hard ! People want things handed to them on a plate nowadays :mad::mad::mad::mad:
Well I hope you feel satisfied having paid a scammer just because you couldn't put in the effort to write TWO letters.0 -

I accept that PE's methods have changed and that was not predictable. I think saying "more fool you for paying" is rather offensive as you are making the assumption that people have nothing better to do with their time than to write letters and try to figure out a way to beat them, whilst all the time wondering if they are going to have to justify themselves in court. My earlier post explains why I gave up on this and paid - maybe I was a fool too - but I feel MUCH better for putting this whole ugly mess behind me.
I respect your right to pay the charges and won't have a go at you for doing so. Everyone has different financial circumstances, personal pressures and all sort of things that can influence their decisions.
We try to help those who don't want, or can't, for their own reasons pay these charges. Yes, it's hard as an individual to take on businesses. Businesses work with corporate money, while it's the motorist's own cash that is at stake. So having help from here can bring results, as I am sure you will concede from reading the many threads that show cancelled charges, POPLA wins and even court wins where we have helped.
So if you feel relieved to have it all behind you, then I agree that is no one's business than your own.0 -

You may be being a little harsh here. What was the current advice last December when the poster Moneymiser 334 received the initial contact from PE.? ( I honestly can't remeber).
If it was to ignore back then the poster Moneymiser 334 probably thought the whole thing was dead until the LBA arrived.0 -

That's it exactly. The advice at that time was to cheerfully ignore ANYTHING they sent - nothing would happen. At the time PE must have been going through some transition to take further action. I do not in any way blame the good helpers on this or other sites who I know are only trying to get a fair deal for the humble motorist. The fact is that things have changed now, and it may well be that a couple of letters MIGHT still sort it out, but for £70 it's not worth my time or stress levels to take a chance - I am wiser to these crooks and I'm not happy to roll over for them, but I know when to quit. With hindsight I should have done it sooner, but nobody has that luxury. I do hope that in time, something will happen to put an end to these scamsters. I am sorry that I can't afford the time or the stress to be part of that process any more. I suspect that there will be countless others like me who were happy to follow what seemed to be good advice at the time. I have complained bitterly to Aldi for using them and will continue to support the demise of these places but I'm not prepared to risk having to payout more or the attendant anxiety that this brings. Flippant comments like ' more fool you, and 'wow if people like yourself can't actually read' says a lot, is unnecessarily offensive and frankly suggests you fail to see this from other people's viewpoint and could lead people completely out of their depth.0 -

Not being rude??!! Make your own mind up.0 -
The problem was that since you got that advice last October Parking a eye has changed tactics, we don't have crystal balls, and we can't forsee the future. You didn't have to pay anything to these idiots if you followed the advice now, like the poster has been advised here.
This was still the advice in January 2013 - I know because I followed it.0 -
The people spamming this board on behalf of parking eye are now getting tedious.
Are they really that desperate for a few quid.
Make absolute no mistake, when some challenges your ANPR cameras and lack of VCA certification equipment been used as court evidence , your entire game is up and up for good.
I think you know this, hence the board spamming trying to scare people.
You are going to get your comeuppance .Be happy...;)0 -

OK, I might have been a tad rude for which I apologise but surely you can see how frustrating it is for people to be giving out free advice on how to defeat these conmen to then be accused of getting it wrong. Even after things changed we could have got your charge cancelled.
Two letters is really all it takes - one very short one and then a cut and paste one with a bit of tweaking. Maybe I'm just built differently but I can't see how that's stressful ? I'd be more stressed knowing I'd paid a scammer. Over 3 decades ago I feel for the black sack auction con in a London shop - even now I kick myself for falling for it - THAT stresses me out NOT writing a couple of letters.
Until people stop paying these scammers then they will remain.0 -

I wouldn't suggest for a minute that you were giving out wrong advice - but it has changed now. The two letters may or may not have taken care of it, but it could take months for me to know for sure, and I just don't want the hassle. I'm not suggesting that others shouldn't do it and I agree that ultimately it will hopefully lead to an end to all this. I feel a little guilty for pulling out for that reason, but I just don't need the wondering what will drop through the letterbox next. On a seperate note, I remember those auction things on Oxford street, After the event you wonder how anyone could be so foolish, but these things are very clever. Also apology accepted. I know you're only trying to help people and that's to be commended.0
