I have just put in my one way booking with Alamo and the drop off charge is $501.41, which is $200 more than Murphy-The-Cat says, the total price is also more than National.
But I am trying to find out if the drop off fee with National is included in the price even though I put in on the booking.

    Cheers Archergirl.
I realise where I've gone wrong with my advice. My last trip was less than 1000 miles as the crow flies (but not by mileage used), which was how I was charged $300 for the 2300 miles that I used :D.
National do have a $250 ceiling (plus inventive taxes) - but I can't find the link on their site.
This page may be helpful.but check that the details are still accurate.

Interesting MTC. At the moment we are booked with Budget, although their drop off fee is £191.82p they are still the cheapest I have found so far.

Is that £191.82 plus their inventive taxes ?
Maybe ask the question on that webpage that I linked to - she seems to know her stuff and there are a few non - Americans asking questions.

Archergirl, where are you going from - to ?

    Yes inc taxes and surcharge.
We are picking up in New haven Conn and dropping off at Sea Tac. we have 28 days hire, in Sept.
The price has dropped a little since I booked so I may cancel and rebook if I can.

    Hi Arhergirl
This has really piqued my interest for a future trip for me !
I've just done a dummy booking from NH to Sea Tec for 28 days with Budget and I'm baffled. The hire charge came out at £777.53 for a Ford Focus, all in, including all insurances. It also included the one way hire charge of $1743 (or approx £1162 !!!)
    Most peculier.

    p.s £191.82 is about $300 ish

If it works for you, you'll be rolling about in clover - but if it all goes Pete Tong, you'll be like the Christmas Turkey "Stuffed" and looking at a rather nasty surpise.

good luck and please let me know how you get on ;)
