This is something I've just noticed so apologies if it has been discussed in detail elsewhere (I couldn't find a thread). I've noticed that now anyone can click on a username and see what a poster is doing even if they're not logged on themselves. This also applies to their profile. I accept that profiles can be configured but even if the maximum controls are applied any person can view threads and see a certain amount of a poster's profile.
When did this change and what were the reasons for doing so? I much preferred the old system where to view a profile and see threads by that person an individual had to be logged on. Everything seems very open now.

I cannot see what difference it makes, if someone wanted to look and a log-in was required they could just create an id to log in with if they didn't already have one.0

It affects what is visible via search engines. That can make it easier to find people who want to be a bit anonymous here.0
