How do you get it as low as £20 - according to the website here it's already £30 ?

It only went up from £28 to £30 in May.

Best deal currently by far is the three-year card at £70.

Many local councils (not all of them though) will subsidise the senior rail card. My present council knocks £4 off, whereas our previous one subsidised it by £6. It's worth checking either on line or giving them a ring. Correction our council has now put the price up to £30 so there isn't a subsidy any more

When I found out that the railcards were going up again in May this year I went for a three year one at £61.50 but you can only get them over the phone or on-line, they are not available from stations or the council. They are good value though as I've already saved £30 with another £10 coming up next week;)

The three year ones are now £70

You don't need to be a pensioner, just to be 60 or over.

You then get 1/3rd off rail fares.

I bought a three year railcard on-line immediately I turned 60 in February. It cost £60 at the time and has paid for itself already. Definitely one of the best over 60 discounts you can get (if you use railways, of course!) I have mainly used it for going to London and you can get a third off tube fares as well if you purchase a travelcard.

My husband got his over 60's card the moment he was 60, and it gets a lot of use.
