M&S back advertising on Facebook

So, after rightly deciding to suspend Facebook advertising on 28th June, M&S have now recommenced their ad campaign. Having swallowed the FB BS about ads not appearing alongside 'inappropriate content' (read child sexual abuse, violent and misogynistic content), their ads are now popping up all over the show. The problem is that Facebook neglected to tell them that individuals share this content on their personal profiles too, something which Facebook did not cover in their change of policy last month. See the attached links for examples of M&S ads appearing next to Facebook content of women being chloroformed, bound and gagged. Nothing graphic or illegal, but pretty disturbing stuff for a "social network" that claims to be suitable for people of 13 years upwards.jacques chirac, I think you are missing the point somewhat. It's not that I am looking for this stuff, its the fact that it is even allowed to exist on a platform aimed at kids of 13 years and upwards that is the major issue. And this is the tip of the iceberg, believe me.
Take a look at this persons profile and his list of liked pages and you will see exactly the kind of stuff that goes on on FB without them doing anything to stop it.
And here we have M&S, a major UK company, that pulled out of advertising on 28th June after being shown its ads next to FB pages 'cute and gay boys' and 'photos vids young gay kids', returning to support a platform that has done nothing to remove the content, only the ads from pages and groups and not personal profiles.
This is scandalous and they are directly funding a platform that hosts disturbing and quite often illegal content.
I don't use Facebook so I don't particularly 'get' how the advertising works alongside what else is on there, but - based on the parts of your posts that I've bolded - isn't your rant more appropriate against Facebook than M&S?
Are M&S the only company that advertises on Facebook?0
