Cheapest (unlockable) phone for PAYG ?

I am looking for the cheapest phone (that I can unlock) to use on PAYG. I actually need 2 if possible! I don't need anything like camera's or colour screens, it just needs to work ! I know someone on MSE saw one at Sommerfield for £4.99 but not in my town unfortunately.

Any suggestions would be of interest!

I would say the best current unlockable phone is the nokia 1100 at woolworths for £19.99

nokia 1100 £9.99 from virgin if you get someone with a virgin sim to buy it and you have an old phone to trade in. £20 without trade in, or £20 reconditioned from virginmobile online including sim with £5 credit i.e £15. You can always sell the sim on ebay.
If you don't mind a used phone try searching for sagem or unlocked siemens on ebay, fairly cheap and some such as A50 are small and light.
