NUS Card- Worth it if you already have a Uni ID Card?

I didn't purchase one for my two years at college, but I wish I did for the Amazon discount - so I will be when I go to uni next September.
Saying that, no one's turned me away when I've used my college ID card. Plus I was able to use the same card online at New Look.
I think I'm gonna get one in September tbh“Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral. ”

Some uni's aren't members of the NUS so you can't get a card. University of Southampton is one
My uni wasn't until recently either! I had NUS at sixth form and never used it, didn't make my money back from it. I use my uni card all the time though. McDonalds say they need NUS but always just take my student ID.0 -
NUS extra card is worth it if you use amazon. Unfortunately my uni isn't part of it so I can't get one.
For everything else my Uni ID has been perfectly fine in most places (apart from places where the deal is for NUS extra cards ONLY). Even abroad my ID was accepted in both Oz and the states for things like museum entry.
Had a few issues here shopping in more rural areas with it, but I eventually got my way0 -
I didn't have one while at uni and got by using my uni student card everywhere, so never really needed one.
The only thing I would suggest needing an NUS card for would be if you use Spotify by any chance. I used it to save money on buying songs on itunes (wasn't a priority to spend my money on at uni) and if you use your NUS card on spotify you get the student deal which is £5 a month, not bad for having as many songs as you want on your laptop/phone. deal is usually £10 so saves you a lot over time.
This is probably the only time I considered getting a NUS card (but then realised my friend had one and just used her code!)0 -
Yes its worth it.
Showcase cinema doesn't accept I.D cards with no date on it - which my uni I.D didn't have.
An N.U.S can also be used for discount for online shopping, while a uni I.D would not.0 -

Some universities are not members and do not deal with NUS. I would recommend buying a student discount card that really does save you money. Student Advantage Card is available for uni/college and sixth form students. You can use this card at literally thousands of places to get discounts and 2 for 1 deals. Student Advantage Card has saved me an absolute packet.0
