Nationwide Flex Direct £2,500 at 5% x 2 some have up to 4
Lloyds TSB £6,000 at 4% x4 vantage accounts
4% is no longer available but you can get 3% with no £2 monthly fee
Santander are well known for poor customer service so as I say there are better bank accounts out there.0 -
The big difference is that Santander 123 pays interest on balances up to £20,000. They used to have a poor reputation for customer service but is it still poor? My experience has been good online, by phone and in branch.0

I have had one 123 for over two years now. Also have an ISA and an esaver with them. And I have Lloyds Vantage, First Direct, Halifax, HSBS and Natwest accounts.
In my experience, Santander are certainly not any worse than any of the others.0 -
Santander got their bad reputation when taking over other organisations eg Alliance and Leicester and the problems merging different computer systems etc. They have improved since - but improve is relative to bank's usual standards

Same here.
I can't be bothered with multiple accounts chasing a few pounds.
I have 2x123 accounts and an Esaver. I have had previous accounts too.
I use their on line service and don't have any problems. The 123 accounts were opened within two working days
In the dim and distant past a I did have an issue with a fixed term account but I think that was more to do with disparate servicing units post mergers. they resolved it in the end."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Same experience as grizzly... had an online, left them for a year or so chasing rates, back with another online, just opened 2 x 123 accounts online in a couple of days without any problems, my DDs are beginning to show up so have gone through ok.0

I was also rejected for the 123 account online so I went into a branch and applied again, I was rejected again. The sales advisor appealed with a copy of my credit report and I was accepted.
I was never told any reasons why I was rejected and why I was then accepted. I am on the e-roll with a good credit history.
Just thought I'd share my experience.0
