virgin tv..is it a contract if have just changed my package?

sky have offered me £50 a month less than I am paying with virgin. I have had virgin since it was cable and wireless/ntl so around 20 years give or take! so having them that long will I be charged a cancellation/disconnection fee to go over to sky...I have recently changed my package with virgin in the last 4 months would this count as a start of a new contract in which case they would charge me for how many months that were left on the contract??? or would my contract have started when I first joined them when they took over from the last company..i hope this is understandable cheers norm!

Probably, especially if it meant you moved to a new "bundle" but you will need to call them to confirm.
