I've been reading that direct debits can be set up. Can I do this so that it is paid off straight away without me having to do anything?

I'm new to credit cards, sorry if this is a stupid question.

You can almost always set up a DD to pay off the minimum amount as it falls due, which is always a good idea so you don't get hit with late charges.

Some companies let you set up the DD to pay the lot off, but some don't so you have to chck that company by company.

It's not a big deal - you have over three weeks between when your statement arrives and the time you have to pay it before interest would be charged.

So as long as you set up internet banking to pay the full amount within a week of getting the statement you're sorted.

No such thing as a stupid question, if you're new to credit cartds then find out as much as you can. Many people have trouble with them, but this is usually because they want to spend their money before earning it. There's no cure for that problem, unfortunately, but it isn't the credit card's fault. And you seem to have the right general idea there ;)

I wouldn't be spending any money I didn't have yet. I would essentially be using it as a debit card. I would only use what was in my bank account.
