I've just had a look on that website and found 320,000 odd British jobs posted in the last month, the first few pages are spammed with the usual "Charity Fundraiser" dross we see here.

Just because there are adverts, doesn't mean that there are jobs.

The travel expenses and accommodation fees are probably repaid from the wages of the foreign workers, effectively tying them to a low paid role where they could spend months repaying the fees before they actually start earning enough money to make the trip to the UK worthwhile.

These are ads that we see all the time, the sharks that put them up are counting on the less experienced, less cynical foreign workers who are probably naive enough to think they're genuine.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

That was my understanding, that the reason our number of vacancies are so high is because our Government run job site has so many vacancies compared to less developed sites of other EU states.

Find a source for this money, show that it doesn't apply to British workers moving to an EU state for work. We focus on immigration so much, what about emigration? 'Brain drain' is a real thing, many of our top and brightest are leaving for better opportunities in the EU.

If it works the other way around I have certainly never been made aware of receiving anything for relocating to Europe. Yes many of our top and brightness leave for Europe, however many more of Europe's not so bright end up here in our factories, as cleaners etc when we already have a surplus of Brits to do these jobs and this g£1000 bonus is going to entice more, come December we are ready to be bombarded again when Bulgaria and Romania join us.

Well to be honest I think there is more to this story than meets the eye so you are probably right.

So how do you know all of Europe know about this scheme? You have the same opportunity as every other EU citizen. People who moan about free movement of labour just want an easy ride, and yes that is what it is, they don't want the competition and want to be paid more for a position that someone better would do for less.

You're right yes. The vast majority of these migrants are unskilled or take unskilled jobs thus effecting the likes of myself. I don't know what exactly you do but imagine all these migrants where highly skilled, taking manager positions, PA positions, brain surgeons etc and drove your wage down to next to nothing, would you still be singing their praises?

Your wage is not next to nothing, the beauty of the minimum wage means everyone is guaranteed a relatively decent income.

You have to ask yourself why the employers are taking on overseas workers. They are most definitely not being paid £1000 to take on a cleaner, so there must be another reason.

No I think you mean the living wage, the min wage allows you to feed yourself, keep a roof over you're head that's about it. I certainly wouldn't call it decent compared to the cost of living in the UK today.

As I said earlier there is definitely more to this story than meets the eye, I can't imagine they are getting £1000 to take on a cleaner.

I work with several European immigrants, I don't see them as a threat, competition isn't a threat, it's a challenge.

I would step up, retrain, differentiate myself, what I have done to get where I am now.

    Adapt or die.

No, I meant the minimum wage. You learn to live to your means.

The Eures scheme only works for employers in countries within the EU that have signed up for the scheme. Britain has not only signed up - iut provides 13% of the funding for the scheme.

So, once you have offered a person a job under the scheme, and they have accepted, you can them apply to Brussels for a grant to help them settle in. The grants are around £870 per employee up to 20 employees. So around Eur$1,000 to the employer. The prospective employee can also get grant money, to cover the cost of attending an interview in the other country.

If the government wanted British firms to hire British workers, then why did they sign up for the scheme?
