I think this is a terrible waste of taxpayers cash and another reason why we should be getting away from Europe, but, I find it equally wrong that the British unemployed sit back and let this happen, surely we can fill these vacancies ourselves or does the system make it easier to just claim benefits.

That is actually ridiculous. Makes me so angry!

Its this part that gets me, its like they are actually looking employers not to employ British.

I would say its not as simple as that, Here is a better solution, instead of importing migrants why not give Brits the £900 or £1000 to help them relocate to different areas of the country with vacancies that match their skills? Probably to sensible an idea that.

Does anybody have any facts about this, as opposed to a newspaper article? I am not denying that some incentives exist (and are available to UK workers searching in other EU countries), but it is definitely not as simple as 'recruit an overseas worker, get £1000'.

Worth noting that the 800,000 jobs are all available to UK workers - they are listed on the JCP portal. As the portal is available anywhere in the world, them being on the EURES site is irrelevant - people can apply either way.

That was my understanding, that the reason our number of vacancies are so high is because our Government run job site has so many vacancies compared to less developed sites of other EU states.

Find a source for this money, show that it doesn't apply to British workers moving to an EU state for work. We focus on immigration so much, what about emigration? 'Brain drain' is a real thing, many of our top and brightest are leaving for better opportunities in the EU.
