I tried the vendor a few times last week, on their home no with no answer. The EA confirmed today they are holiday gave me the mobile number today. I am reluctant to call them when they are on holiday. I feel like they should know what is going on though, especially if they can put pressure on from their side too
We really really want this house so I really don't want to look at other houses. There MUST be a way round it. It can't be impossible for those vendors to sell that house to me.
But you might be right to start looking again so that if the worst happens, we are less emotionally invested.:(
banwa, give it a chanceIt's still only really been 3 months since the offer was accepted. We were in a similar position to you but we needed to see some kind of council-permission certificate relating to solar panels on the house. These things do take a while, they have to contact various people to track down this one bit of paper and solicitors are slow at the best of times. I wouldn't jump the gun and give up on the house sale yet. Definitely text them, just to remind them they need to get things going when they get back. It will be fine! You are in a good position, it's better to get it right than to rush.

If you don't want to call the then TEXT them. That way you can explain the situation fully or ask for an email address?
I have our vendor's email and we have managed to keep each other up to date
I assume the vendor is planning to buy somewhere else so may be getting worried by now that things have stalled! Texting won't do any harm - give it a go.
I have vivid memories of being on holiday and my husband talking on his mobile to the solicitor about one of our house purchases while trying to steer a narrowboat through a lock. :rotfl:0 -
Hello folks
Well the 7th August came and went...then the 14th, and it will be the 21st tomorrow....
We got the information we needed on 1st August. Then it took another 5 days for the underwriters to confirm they were happy with the subsidence claim in 98.
So we nearly exchanged last week BUT then our mortgage provider refused to send us the funds because our solicitor had a merger with another solicitor about 4 weeks ago. We had to undergo another mortgage offer.
It has been painful and thoroughly frustrating but we finally exchanged:) today and complete next Tuesday.
Thanks again for your help everyoneDebt £26k 18/10/140
