Ending phone contract with orange, still haven't been cut off?

2 weeks ago I phoned oranges up, paid off the remaining contract fee and they said it would be cut off within 2 days.. 2 weeks later and it still hasn't been cut off, eg my phone still gets signal on that SIM card and I'm able to send messages?!
My orange account says my current balance is negitive the amount I paid off, so they have received my payment, but why haven't they cut me off?
Nor have I receive any letter or anything from them telling me my contract is now over, although I paid to end it!
It's starting to frustrate me because I want to sell the phone, but what if they demand it back or something in 2 weeks?
Anyone else who has also paid to end their orange contract, did this happen to you? Or should I contract them?
Thanks

contact them! It should not still be active if the account's closed. Call and check and get the name and extension number of the person you speak to just in case they try to bill you at a later point it's much easier to disputeYes Your Dukeiness0

Did you also ask for a PAC, to take your number to a new provider?
If so, the issue of a PAC overrides the cut-off date, and the contract only ends with use of the PAC. In case that seems odd, it has to be done this way in order to protect the number.
This sometimes catches out people who ask for a PAC, then decide after all not to keep the number, and the old contract is still running.0
