I'm also doing the decorating of the hall and the wedding invitations for my friend's wedding in November.

I've been scouring the net to try and find some ideas, and really love the ideas so far given for the table centres.

That picture shown above is beautiful with the three flowers and the candles.

    Thanks to everyone!

    Hi

I'm doing ultra cheap pom poms to hang from the ceiling - they sound vile but are actually really effective and can be made in any colour - one of Martha Stewarts tips

Hi im getting married in july and like sum people im on a tight budget too and im decorating the room myself your friends are dead lucky to have you. anyway what im using for a focal piece on each table instead of paying for expensive flowers and balloons i bout tall vases for a pound each and im filling them white white and marshmallows. it might not sound much but it does look absolutly fantasic and very different. try it and see what you think.

  • Wondering if I can bump this to get some fresh ideas as I am decorating a village hall on a budget on 10/10/10! Got some cheap bunting and lamps from a sale at Cox & Cox and have been loaned a whole lot of bunting. Will be doing balloons and cutting lots of heads of barley to string up. Also got some cheap blank canvases and getting an arty friend to paint with LOVE and hearts etc etc! Should be fun. Need more ideas though and any general money saving ideas for the whole event!

My daughter has been told she can't add decorations to the walls of the hall she has hired for her wedding. She was hoping to add swags from the centre of the ceiling and fairly lights around the room. Any ideas would be very welcome.

I bought some muslin fabric, seconds but still good for the job. We had an area of shutters to be covered so I fastened white fairy lights to the shutters with parcel tape. I had prepared 4 lengths, approx 10', which I had hemmed at the top. I then threaded a curtain wire through the top hem and hung them in front of the lights.47741_485448209427_803299427_6822834_5765184_n.jpgWe then put a table with a wishes tree in front of that. Excuse our guest on this photo this is the only shot of the area we have;) But he was a really nice guest. I bought 30mtrs at £1 per mtr so plan to sell it on ebay, even if I only get £10-15 it was still worth the effort. I used the fabric in various areas to make it look different to our everyday church hall
