I was in the same situation a few weeks ago, and in the end rather than pay £47.50 went and bought one of the New GO 500s with Lifetime traffic and maps (Although it uses your mobile phone data to get traffic rather than having a built in SIM), and sure enough just after doing that the 40% off code popped up,

So am glad it has been of use.
