Tomtom live annual update, is there anyway to get it cheaper than £47.50?
Do they do it on offer at all?

I really do hope you can - TomTom do offer a 'personalised quote' but it depends how old your device is.

This is why I bought a Garmin - with Lifetime updates included - much better value.

I get 4 Garmin updates a year - an annual update is not much good - too much changes in a year.

I've a colleague who has never updated his 6 year old Tom-Tom - and then complains bitterly that all Sat-Navs are ****.

It goes against all my principles - but if I were in your situation, and couldn't find a price reduction, I would consider a Garmin deal with free updates.

Over 3 or 4 years it could well work out cheaper.

Tomtom's free lifetime map update deal is currently still available if you have to get a new device.

It's a year old Tom Tom, it's not the map updates, it's the LIVE traffic annual subscription, sorry, maybe I didn't make that clear.

Garmin are offering this free for life, Halfords [STRIKE]are [/STRIKE] were offering the same on new (selected)TomToms at the minute.... my guess is TT will have to go the same way for all it's live devices soonish.

Maybe worth waiting before renewing to see if that happens?

The tomtom is bought, the person who owns it has used it happily for a year. They miss it & they want to renew the annual sub.
Its still cheaper to renew the annual sub than buy a new model, its the top of the range £200ish model.

    8% cashback on Quidco currently.
That's an effective saving of £3.80.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Tomtom seem to reduced rates twice a year I do wait till they reduce to renew ,awhile back Halfords did a tomtom with free lifetime map updates and 3 years live services free it came down to£189.99 but has gone back up to £244.99 I wish I had bought it now I keep checking to see if it comes back on offer you should get offers from tomtom by email if you have signed up/downloaded tomtom home for your free map update when you first purchase .

There is currently a 40% Off Voucher code, off Live Services

    VERANTT04

Add that at checkout and it will take £19 off the price

I would seiously consider a new unit regardless of how good the current one is.

My last Sat Nav was a Tomtom Live. The annual subscription was a rip off. The map updates were worse. I paid over £60 due to how old the map was and it was a waste of money. A new junction/roundabout nearby that was built nearly a year earlier wasn't even on it. The update also made the map too big for the device (over 2gb) which meant I had to buy a memory card as well.

Last year I bought a Garmin for the first time as I was going on holiday to the South of France via Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. The Garmin cost £154.90 from Amazon with 5" screen and has free lifetime map updates free traffic.

The current price at Amazon is £129.99.
