    YES
    and the answer is NO!!!!!!!
    I said YES.
Reasonable charges, regular service and profit.

Feel free to ignore what I've said and just make it up for yourself, but then why come here and ask?

the ones i met were just after selling - to make their commission

maybe i met the worst of the bunch

please tell me i didn't - how could i have known they were just after commission and not my best intrests?

Which businesses do you tend to deal with that only have your best interests at heart, and aren't looking to take a wage out of it, or a profit?

How on earth have you made it to adulthood without realizing that this is what businesses do? They offer goods or services, for payment, to make money.

you sound like one of life's natural IFA customers.

though I type of doubt if you would ever have enough cash to be of interest to an IFA :(

I have never used an IFA in my life.

And my god do you talk a load of cynical rubbish!!!!!!!

You've watched far too many episodes of Watchdog/Thats's life (80's program)/Rogue Traders etc!!

If you have only read the last two sentences of bowlhead's post, and only two other posts in the thread, then you are hardly in any position to comment in return :p

Indeed- Rollinghome should not support a Bully and attack those who question the bully's motives?

Afterall, he hasn't read any of the bullying posts?

He's a strange one. He admits that he'd struggle to pay an IFA, yet then mocks others who he assumes are in as bad a position as he is.

    Most rum.

just to clarify, i struggle to think it worthwhile to pay someone with the equivalent of a first year university training a couple of k a year for advice.

I think it safe to say i'm in the top 1% of the population wealth wise....

happy to say I use an IFA and am ahead of the game. Been with him a couple of years, spent a few hundred and made a few thousand. My approach is to learn from this forum, apply the knowledge to my situations, put together a plan, then test it out on my IFA. If he can pick holes in it I think again, if he endorses it we go ahead and execute. I do the bits I am confident doing and can be bothered to do; he does the bits I'm not confident about or cannot be bothered to do, bearing in mind what it will cost me. Works for me - YMMV.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
