Benefit fraud court appearance as witness

If I were you, I would ignore the email, assuming that you hadn't already contacted them, and then move it to your trash, then ensure any further emails from them also go into you trash folder.
That way you can claim that you knew nothing about it the case, things like that should have been done by letter anyway. If they do catch up with you, tell them you are away when the case comes up, but will give a written statement confirming what they want to know.
They cannot compel you to go if you don't want to.0
