Sky refund when not receiving signal?

I've done a forum search but couldn't find anything relating to my query so thought I'd ask my question here in case someone here knows the answer.

My Sky hd box has today started showing a 'no satellite signal being received' message. Tried all the online suggestions to no avail & been ages on phone with advisor suggesting more things that didn't solve problem. (what a shock when he offered to call me back when half way through the call I commented on how much the call was costing me!)

Anyway, now engineer has to come out & as box is still in warranty it will be at no cost to me.

What I'm wondering about though is as I have to wait just over a week for an engineer, do Sky usually refund for the time when no satellite service is available if you ask them? It just doesn't seem right to be paying for something I can't avail myself of for over a week & though we're only talking about approx £7, £7 is quite a lot for nothing.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

They usually do refund the time "lost" so to speak if you ask them.

Sky boxes are cheap as chips on ebay, or free on freegle. Why not keep an old one spare for just such an eventuality?
This assumes that it's the box and not the dish, cabling or LNB of course.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

When we had problems we did not get a refund as such, just a reduction in one of the months direct debits so I suppose its the same thing really, just no money invovled.

So you got a billing credit for your time without viewing, what's the problem with that?
