How to Disable voice message on Iphone4 (on Tmobile)
after some advice please folks
I have an iPhone4 on tmobile,
I have phoned Tmobile many, many times requesting this to be deactivated, getting told every time, yes sire that done now
it gets so frustrating when I get told its done now sir, yet 1 week, 1 month, 3 months later a charge appears on my bill for a voice message
it appears if I knock the button that activates this, I end up getting charged
so I'm after some advice on how to disable voice messageing from the phone (Iphone4)
and advice would be appreciated

When I used a pay as you go SIM with Three, I asked their customer service to disable voice mail. Normally Three's CS are not the best in terms of sorting matters out, but that worked fine.
Since then I have moved to a Three contract SIM (their One Plan), which includes free voice mail access, so it's not an issue.
I don't think there is a setting to remove the voice mail button from the contacts screen of an iPhone, or at least I can't find one on my iPhone 5.
Maybe time to vote with your feet and move to another provider who can do as you ask? Although aren't T-Mobile one of the few who can disable premium rate (reverse charge) text messaging? Which I think they all should do by default.0 -

Thanks for the response,
however over several years I have spoken to Tmobile a number of times, each time I get told yes its been disabled
the mist recent time was 6/Jul/13, since then on 2 occasions, I have somehow managed to press the voicemail button/tab on my iphone 4
next thing a charge appears for voicemail on my bill
so I phoned up yet again last night, to query was I was told on 6.July, this had been disabled (yet again) but I have a charge on my bill
it looks like they can disable it from there end, making it unworkable
but if I press the voicemail key on my phone, it connects then i get charged, for a service that is supposed to be disabled ???0 -

1. The voice mail button cannot be disabled on the iPhone (except possibly by hacking the phone).
2. Voice mail may be turned off for your number by the network, as you have asked them to do on several occasions, but if you call the voice mail number you will still be charged for the call.
I have checked to see if the voice mail number in the phone can be changed to something that "won't work", unfortunately it can't. The number is set by the network, possibly via the phone reading the SIM.
What seems to be happening is you are accidentally dialling the voice mail number and being charged for it. The only solution is to take care when the phone contacts page is displayed.0
