Thank you OF. Yes the kids had a great time. As did we :)

I was 28 this year so 2015 will be my 30th year. I plan to be debt free and well on our way to saving for a mortgage by then which will deserve a big party :D

Received some sad news Friday night. My Uncle has pancreatic & liver cancers and only has between 3-12 months left :( Having watched my MIL lose her battle with pancreatic cancer in May it's all a bit raw and knowing what he'll go through is horrible. Quite glad my cousins don't know what he's facing.

    AHHHHHH!!!

DD1's Dad was due to pay me my maintenance money today and it hasn't gone in. Not the first time this has happened since he changed his job, so I thought nothing of it and let him know the SO failed to which I get a reply of "oh, I thought it had already gone out and I'm skint so you'll have to wait until the 30th" I am fuming. Especially as I know he is off to Ireland tomorrow! No money but yet can go on holiday. We're really going to struggle for the next couple of weeks now as that is £125 we're down :(

On the money front, I have paid £20 off a LW's BNPL which is due in November, LW's min payment and DH has paid his loan this week so it is now under £6000 :D I have updated my sig for the loan, just waiting for my LW's statement next week so I can update that.

Managed a bargain today. I got DS's school jumpers for next year from Mrs S, £2 for 2 :jDid the same last year. Very MSE.:money:I Also had to buy all the kids new willies so that was another £20 as DD1's now cost £10 rather than £5 like the 2 small ones.

DD2 had her 1st day of school on Wednesday. She loved it, as did I! I managed to have some me time and go for a run. She only stayed until 12 this week so peace and quiet was short lived. I have managed a run every morning since Wednesday though which is good. She stays until 1pm next week as they stay for lunch so she will be happy as she finally gets to take in her lunchbox

DD1 is off for a sleepover tonight and hopefully DH will nip off to the pub to be social for an hour or 2 (not very MSE I know, but he needs to be more social! We have hardly any friends!) so I can catch up with everyone's diaries. I have been slacking recently :o

Right I suppose I'd better get some dinner on, these children won't feed themselves! Burgers from the freezer (from DH's Birthday meat hamper gift) and A!di wedges. So nice and cheap ;)

    Phew! What a week!

DD2 has had a full week of school staying for lunch until 1pm and yesterday was her 5th birthday, which apparently was the "best birthday ever!" which is always nice to hear.

Unfortunately our small savings pot of £70 has gone to cover groceries at the beginning of the week as DD1's maintenance wasn't paid. He finally managed to pay me today which helps us a lot as we were still short for our planned weekend activities which we had budgeted for as part of DD2's Birthday. Tonight is the school fete to celebrate the school being a massive 150 years old so some spends will be required. Tomorrow we will be going to soft play and then onto a meal with her best friends family and Sunday DD2 has a birthday party to attend before we go visit family 30 miles away! So a busy weekend for us.

Poor old BUD will also be leaving us this weekend. Possibly tonight. A garage has offered us £300 for her which I think is rather good seeing as she's old, corroded, leaking oil and the paintwork on the bonnet and roof had oxidised so looks awful! But, that's £300 back in the savings pot for a new car. We are no longer in a rush for a new car as DH has decided that he can just use the van which FIL is giving him and allowing him to sell so when the time comes that should be another £3000 in the pot. He plans to use it until after Christmas so fingers crossed for some normal months now the kids are back at school and all our birthdays are done for the year. In fact apart from DD2's best friends birthday (which I've already purchased the present) we have no birthdays until December. So hopefully from next Thursday (DH's next pay day) we can get building the savings pot up and continue to clear the debts.

  • Well the birthday treat day was a success. DD2 had a fab time at soft play with her best friend and DD1 followed by a lovely meal with best friends family. Was only £53 which I think is very good (was £106 but bill halved between the 2 families) This included all drinks (men had 2 pints each) starters for us adults, mains and kids meals including puddings and there was 9 of us (4 adults, 5 kids).

Tomorrow is another busy day. DD2 has a party to attend in the afternoon then off to visit family 30 miles away! So hopefully tomorrow will be a NSD apart from diesel in my car for the 60 mile round trip

  • Hi Sammr, just catching up with diaries... glad to hear DD had a great birthday, and enjoyed it!

Thats a pain about DD's dad not paying the money in when he is supposed to, thats not your problem that he is skint! Must be extrememly frustrating knowing that he is off on holiday too - cheeky git!

Hope you manage the NSD today, and todays party is a success!

No NSD yesterday :( Treated us all to some bacon for breakfast and the kids needed yogurts for school today. On the up side FIL treated us all to a Chinese for our dinner so I didn't have to find anything for us all to eat and as it was late by the time we got home there is a good chance we would of ended up at "Golden Arches!" :o

Been shopping today as I received my CA. Got enough of everything until Thursday which is the start of a new week in this house as DH gets paid fortnightly on a Thursday. Spent £38.23 in A!di and £17 in Mrs S on nappies and wipes for DS. My debit card was weirdly declined in Mrs S so I paid on my CC but I did the MSE thing and emptied my bank account paying £21 off my CC which more than covered the £17 I spent on it :)

I get my CB tomorrow as we're paid weekly, so I am going to purchase some books from the book people for Christmas as they are offering free delivery on spends over £10 which should be easy as I am buying my Mum "The Hunger Games" Series as a belated Birthday present as she said yesterday she hadn't read them. (I am a massive fan so come November expect a lot of HG talk!)

I am also going to be using this diary to now track household bits such as flylady (from the OS boards) and meal planning as I am too useless to keep up with the threads and I can not seem to plan a full weeks worth of meals!

So..... tonight's dinner is savoury mince, boiled potato and runner beans (both homegrown :) )

    Morning Wegle :wave:and welcome

So jealous that you live so close to Trago. It's not a holiday without a visit :)

So, I am child free for the day and it's my day off from running so in theory I have plenty of time to complete todays FL list. Also, change of plan on the book people order. A friend has suggested we go to our local outlet centre to hopefully fundraise for our charity event we are hosting. So saving my CB monies for there as I found a xmas present for DS online at the works so hoping they have it in store to save on P+P :money:

Tonight's dinner will be "Pizzadillas" and potato wedges. Kids love it, it's a healthier pizza, the kids can make their own and it's simple.

Lots of LO mince from yesterday too which will do another meal later in the week or all my lunches for the rest of the week.
