Cinema was fun. DS was a bit "screamy" so I didn't enjoy it so much but both DD's did.

Did a very un-MSE thing though. I took us all to "golden arches" for lunch as we were out with friends :o

Not planning on spending much money entertaining the kids for the next couple of weeks now. Need to be using our annual pass to CWP more, so the most it should cost me apart from diesel is a trip on the train and an ice-cream each (all under £10) and I won't be doing that every time!!

I have managed to PAD £2.44 to my CC this afternoon though, which makes me feel better!

    Hi Sammr

That's a shame about the ppi being spent. The positive way to look at it is that it would have been awful if the glasses cost came in and you didn't have the ppi money!

Sounds like you have planned some good low cost things for the kids.

    Well done on your PAD

Well tonight was D-Day for DH's car. BUD is well and truly dead! Rust everywhere, some sort of seal is missing which would cost over £1000 to fix, and something is wrong with the front which means its not attached to anything
So, we need to be saving like crazy people from now on. No more PADding to the CC. Instead it will be to my savings account. Also going to be selling things like crazy on FB to avoid sellers fees :money:

I was hoping to not have to work on my business over the school holidays but I think I might have to be working on more promoting and hoping for more sales to help :(

Right time for bed. Tomorrow is DH's pay day so I can put aside all the money for his glasses when they come in and get the rent & council tax paid. I don't think he has many DD coming out this fortnight so hopefully I can put quite a bit into his savings account............

It never just rains does it! DS has broken the screen on my phone in another one of his angry, increasingly frequent, meltdowns. I'm so upset I could cry. I have nothing that's just mine in this house especially when it comes to gadgets. He broke my last phone like this too. More money down the drain :-(

I've been doing the same! Heading to a local carboot sale tomorrow (weather permitting) and hoping to shift most of it there!

I hope you manage to get the phone fixed cheaply, thats a shame it got broken :(

Is there a local market where you might find someone who can fix it? I think there is someone in our City who does repairs.

Good Luck - and keep your chin up, these things are sent to try us!

Morning Mrs S and OF :hello:

Well, it's been an interesting 10 days.

I have spent most of the last week playing Monopoly with DD2 (and DD1 when she came home from her Dads) DH found his S!mpsons version at his Dad's so brought it home and now DD2 is obsessed. Never too young to learn money skills :money:. All this Monopoly playing means I've been rather good on the spending front as we hardly went out!! I have had to buy some business supplies this week though which is where quite a bit of last weeks money has gone but this is all necessary to eventually make money in the run up to Christmas. On this front, I also opened up my own Etsy store which will hopefully build my business = more money :money:

In these past 10 days, I have discovered A!di!! OMG, why has it taken me so long to shop there. I am converted. I will still have to go to Mrs S as they don't do DS's nappies or whole wheat pasta and rice but the majority of our shopping will now be there.

Also managed to get some more uniform for the girls. (DS is finished) I had a £50 M&$ voucher we were gifted so spent £30 on trousers in there for them and then £20 in Mr A so now I just have to get them both shoes.

Managed to get my savings account up to £52 just from rounding down my bank account and a Quidco payment also went to that.

On the bad news front, I got a flat tyre last week :( (due to a screw!) DH took it to the tyre place yesterday and thankfully they agreed that it could be repaired which was £24.50 rather than the £100+ it would of been for a new tyre. Also went to Mrs S yesterday so that was the rest of the money from the week gone which I was hoping would go in the savings account.

Still not managed to get my phone fixed as I have been quoted £140  so as it still works, I will be keeping my cracked screen until we fall into a pit of money:rotfl:

MSE day today. Just a visit to the library and I believe DD1 is back off to her Dad's for 4 days. Back just in time for my Birthday :D
