advice on fraudulent transaction please!

in Credit cards
Hi all,
I have had a fraudulent transaction appear on my MS credit card this morning - the payment having gone to Royal & Sun Alliance (over £2000  ) .
I've rung MS and they have said to ring Royal & Sun and get them to trace the payment and refund it rather than starting the claim procedure with them. They cant give me any reference details for the payment either, so I'm now on a bit of a wild goose chase.
The chap as MS also said that it was highly unlikely to be anything fraudulent involving an insurance company as the person would have to give all their details to start up a policy and would therefore be very easy to trace.
Surely it is up to MS to sort this out? and also if someone has got my card details, its hardly the best solution to just get a refund from Royal & Sun as they can still just use my card for some other transactions...
What would you guys do in my scenario? I'm panicing a bit as I had a fraud problem on another card of mine last year too...
Many thanks,
Jon

First step is to get them to cancel your card and to issue a new one. Don't want any more transactions going through.
One other thing you could say is that the insurance company won't talk to you as you can't verify the security questions. This is assuming that it is fraudulent and the bad guy has used dodgy or his own details. That should be enough to get them to do something.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
