Forum – Marry, snog, throw off a cliff?

Marry: personalisation - avatars, signatures
Snog: medals/stars
Cliff: anything non-forum - the dropdowns for the main site at the top which obscure the breadcrumb trail AND the right-hand column with links to blogs, what's trending, the email - if I want those, I'll go to the main site.

Marry: Introduce an "Exclude Child Forums" radio button on quick search (ticked by default)
Snog: Allow use of accents on letters (especially e-acute)

Marry ~ Board Guides, but there are two few on the Competitions board. There are 4 but only two actually do any work on the comp board & the same two are the only ones who answer P.M's the other two ignore them

Snog ~ Sub sections on the comp board for Twitter Comps & FB Comps, well I would snog them if we had them, do you think that's possible?

Throw ~ The star rating system because people post needless comments to up their stars, or so they can start to post spam, this clutters the boards up with useless comments, plus nasty P.M's are sent to people posting comps other people usually post because they are "Stealing their stars". There must be a better way to thank the most useful posters without this I am better than you because I have more stars mentality as this happens on all sections of this forum

Throw off a cliff: The 'thanks' button. I'd replace it with a thumbs up/thumbs down system. I think it would better represent what people actually thought of a post and whether that post was helpful.

Throw off a cliff: Use main site for house/car insurance deals (great!) and then read forums for more info. Wish the board was subdivided, would make searching for info easier.
